it's not that much a philosophical game, but it's a really nice adaptation of Orpheous and Eurydice's Myth. I had to get her ghost to realize this was the myth and that the final boss is Hades :I

The bosses are perhaps a bit too difficult. (Philosophical games can't be appreciated as well if their difficulty scares away half the audience before they can see the whole story.) But the game is otherwise brilliant. 4/5

That awful moment when you jump *just* as a bullet is fired.. and you just so happen to be headed for the same spot...

To kill hades (and actually for most puzzles) it seems that the longer you wait, the lower your chance of survival. So if you get to Hades, try and kill him as fast as you can. I think it helps to not touch the ground if possible, but I'll let you figure out that part ;)
I didn't particularly like the controls as I found the character's 'response' a little frustrating. I enjoyed the music and I quite liked Cerebus :p Most of all I like that you can't really "die" (but I also won't spoil the ending for new players). But, the multi-limbed creature was slightly annoying until I understood how it worked.
I think persistence in finishing the game actually helped me enjoy it a bit more than I would have if I gave up - I do like a manageable challenge ;p
Overall, a lovely game, so thank you (:

adding upon r2d2go's guide do not climb back up imediatly after shooting the big demon in the face he will shoot a fire ball at the first platform everytime and if your standing there it is almost undodgeable

Ok, Here's a Real review: This Game sucks because the controls are extremely non-responsive, yet you die in one hit, and the monsters are relentless, so while you can't turn and shoot or jump, or do Anything smoothly or when you mash the buttons, the monsters are able to flip around and be all crazy.

Wow, this is a great game! I love the basic graphics, and the sybolism! Very much enjoyed it, hope to see what you do next:)

Oh, man, this game blew my mind. I didn't understand why it was called "Don't Look Back" until I defeated the big boss and realized it was the tale of Orpheus. Smooth gameplay, awesome pixel graphics, haunting ending, and a really satisfyingly hard challenge, to boot.

@Peacekeeper: worms/snakes take three hits to kill and are pushed when hit. They dash forward, then slow. Spiders: They drop from above, but are easy to kill and big. Dog: Let him jump over you then shoot him several times. Do that again. Then jump over him and shoot him dead. Shoot from behind. Jumpers: They take 3 hits to kill and jump up and down. They run at the same speed as you and aren't too hard to dodge. Big demons: They shoot fireballs in a randomly in a thin cone. Just shoot while jumping or standing, depending if he aims high or low, 4 hits. For the double demons, get up high and take 2 shots at him, then drop down, 2 more, up, down then DON'T jump up or you will get hit by the burst of fire when the demon dies. Boss: Jump onto the low plat form and as it fades jump on the next. Don't let more than one spider congregate, and kill bats ASAP. His fire-spreads are fairly easy to dodge, just look at the two going closest to you and stand in between.

Here are the enemy types worms: You cant kill them, can only push them back. Bats: You can kill but, wait till they get at gun level. Spiders: Wait till the drop and shoot at them fast if there is a lot.(If possible jump over them). 1st boss the dog: Keep trying to shoot his butt (lol). First form of jump: Let him jump over you and then turn and shoot him in the butt. 2nd form of jump: It is a long but high jump so do the same for this one and for the third jump it is low and hard to avoid just jump over him when he attacks you. Then next screen you find a jumping demon or something. He takes 3 shots to kill and are hard to kill (just avoid them). then the HUGE demon guys that throw fire. Jump and dodge their fire balls and try to shoot them down fast. 5 hits to kill them. Then the boss devil: Jump on the high platform and hit his face. Takes 6 shots I think. Have fun and + this to help other kong members.

is there supposed to be no visible path in the underworld? got to screen with 4 springs & 2 squares, no path so just keep dying. 1/5.
