Only 12 people have been on the moon. Now I am taking 50 soldiers to the moon to set up a base. And then there are hundreds of soldiers trying to capture it.

Wow, we found the Mastermind! We should totally bring the helicopters!
Only then did they find out that inside the Philadelphia apartment, there were 30 highly trained soldiers with railguns and a secret agent.

Taking Over the World 101: Set up your base of operations in a Philadelphia neighborhood with 30 guards with rifles and rob gas stations for money gain!

OK just finished and my favorite part was the guys at the end FINALLY questioning the mastermind. All the crap they went through, all of their friends dying and ONLY after he says destroy this puny planet do they figure out he's insane.

Mastermind: World Conquerer might be one of the best games that I played on this site.
Visuals: Te menus look pretty but not good. The main map is from a top down perspective that looks straight out ugly. Not very appealing
Audio: Music is okay. The sound-effects for shooting are annoying and the menu sound effects become annoying after you heard them the 10th time
Story: Conquer the earth, actually pretty simple.
Controls: Click, Click, Click through menus.
Gameplay: Enjoyable because you are a villain, you hire minion, you steal technologies, you kill some target or straight out ( spoiler ) ... Its like an evil empire simulator. It has only one ending that is pretty cool but they missed their potential here.
Rated N for now that I think about it...

how to undo the an attack on base even though you rise in notoriety? that even doesn't make sense okay let see uh I think that infinite attack bug is still not fixed. I playing it locks my game to where I still play through but I can only have patsies try to gather science yet its not winnable or progress of level is able but you as you gather income you end up doing what heck. Maybe I should reset.

Holy crap I love this game's humor.
"This is going to be quick and dirty, so I hope you brought a condom."
Marvelous.

A few things not explained in the tutorial:
1. Minion pricing depends on the number in your base. If you send a big group out on a mission, you can buy cheap before they come back.
2. Weapons and henchmen must be equipped under the "shield" tab before use. To win tough battles,
3. To use a patsy, go to the "meeting room" and assign them to a mission.

Is this game overengineered or what? The core gameplay is basically just defending the base and acquiring technologies. As long as you keep trying you'll get all of them and win the game.
Yet there is a feature which allows you to manipulate complex global affairs through terrorism resulting in... a pretty negligible change in the difficulty of the two main tasks. Why bother?
There are multiple cutscenes providing flavor to the repetitive nature of the missions, dozens of characters to hire with different voiced lines (the cool thing is that you can hear the patsies you hired laugh in unison at the end of each meeting) different locations with various bonuses...
But ultimately it doesn't matter much since you can just rush through and finish the game without seeing half of the stuff they packed for you to see. Heck, the rapid pace even encourages you to go supersonic.
Still, it was quite innovative back in the day. And it aged well in terms of graphics and various details.
