Just one thing...it would be really nice if each area had its own light level, instead of constantly changing. I know it's to simulate the process of day and night, but it's just really annoying.

There is no way of saving your progress, is there? IMHO that's far worse than the lacking map feature. Otherwise really nice Zelda-style game with a nice background story.

In response to Timeblog on my last comment:
Ahh, ok. I can see where you're coming from with that. I would suggest then your message would have come across clearer if you had given the protagonist a character of his own instead of a blank slate. There are a few exceptions to the rule, but by leaving the protagonist open to be a vessel for the player, it is very difficult to see the character as disparate from the player.
I appreciate your reply and the insight on your thought process there.
Again, fun game. I look forward to your next works.

Fun game, but I don't feel like the whole morality thing worked.
Most of the game I just felt like I was 'playing it wrong' by finishing the dungeons in the only way possible. And then right at the end the difference between endings didn't end up being about the choices you made, but how much of the game you completed.
While this was a fun game to play, it probably would have been better if you just made it flat out linear, with only one ending.
Also, the controls are a little glassy (at least on my computer), which makes the lava dungeon just a pain to get through. : \
Overall, while I'm being fairly negative, this game is some pretty good work and shows promise for the developer. I just wish this had been polished up a little more.
I feel that I didn't really deliver the storyline totally correctly--you aren't the character; you are simply playing through his ordeals. The idea is that the character is making all of the choices (choices that a "simpleton" in his situation would have made), but the first choice that the player, not the character, is allowed to make is with the Watcher. It was supposed to be a late-game joining of the two "entities," but many people have taken to seeing it in the traditional light where the game would treat the character and the player as one, in which case the game falls short on choices.

The gameplay is great, but the ending is disappointing. 4/5 because I don't understand why planting a tree at the end protects you against the monster who wanted you to get the bloody seed (that guy should be the final boss IMO, because the owl is too easy).

After finishing both endings, I enjoyed the game, as well as the music. Very clearly the theme is of our choice; morality. The main problem I had with how the game plays is you cannot choose to avoid committing the sins which need redeeming in the first place. After playing about halfway through, I restarted, thinking If I could collect the gold pieces, then turn around come the guardians, I would complete the game as a moral person. However, working to get the conch or any keys wont work without killing, so you really have to be immoral, with the final redeeming. I doubt you'd edit the game at this point, however, in the future, perhaps make the game more open to our choices from the start, rather than choosing "yes" or "no" at the end. Either way though, I really enjoyed your game. The music was nice too, so pass that along to your composer as well. I'm glad to see there is a sound track; too many games are made on flash with great music you can never find.

For complaints about a map, this is made as an old-style RPG. Back in the day, you drew your own map on a sheet of paper. You don't need one programmed in, be an explorer and build one yourself! C:

I find myself wishing there was a little more direction. I think I'm stuck in a dungeon without the skill or items I need to get out...

@BebiBliss: Just wait in front of him. As soon as he shows you his hard violet abs, slash him. 3 hits should do it. He won't attack you unless you attack him while he's blocking.

Will there be a sequel to the bloodless ending? I loved this game ^O^
Btw ignore that last comment, I hadn't gotten a secondary weapon yet so the inventory didn't show up until I got the wand derp xD

I don't know why the watcher bothered, you would have had to go through everything to reach the owl anyway. A better plan would be to hand you the seed before you run into shieldspire.

as you can read in other comments DONT press the R(eset) button when you are stuck (like me : 2 blocks for the 2 exits XD) just press 2 times esc when you want to restart the level

The hero seems a bit hard of hearing.
Oracle: "Please find me a seed"
Hero: "Kill all the creatures of the relic, gotcha"

The pieces fill the treasure randomly. The pieces can be found at:
8. The Times dungeon, above the area with the drills.
9. On the inside of Tentacle Beast's dungeon; in a little ice part surrounded by water.
10. Around the outside of Tentacle Beast's dungeon; right above the part where you are teleported out of the boss area.
11. In the entry of Totem's dungeon
12. Further along within Totem's dungeon, in front of the burnable tree for a switch.
13. In the King of Fire's dungeon (pre-dark suit), in the first big room, near the entrance to the boss area.
14. In the King of Fire's dungeon (with the dark suit), in the area where you are first pulled across a gap by an enemy.
15. Inside the Lights' dungeon (with the dark suit), across some lava, and above where you can get the health.
16. In the entry to Ghethis, to the upper-right of the first area in the tower.

I think people misunderstood my previous comment, when I said that about the guy dying at the end, I said that because I was wondering how a sequel would be made.
