I think that you should have to click an "Apply" button for certification to begin--it's very annoying to be certified automatically and suddenly find that all your customers are now whining about some new amenity you haven't built yet.

For all those complaining about elevators, dont make a single shaft that goes all the way up and down, make them at seperate parts and only make them 4-5 tall that way the elevator goes up and down quicker and even though the guests have to get off to up up higher they arent waiting for elevators RATE UP SO ALL CAN SEE

I'd like to mention, the reason every guest complains about long lines everywhere, is because most guests spend 5+ days washing their clothes.

Today is a day of miracles. I never thought I'd see the day a game asks you if you want sound before forcing it upon you. Hallelujah.

A couple of things to solve the elevator problems blocking hte 5 star rating :
First, expand horizontaly, trying to limit the number of floors.
Second: build elevators shafts going only to a limited numbers of floors (1-10, 11-20, 21-30, etc) they go back and forth faster and the customers stop complaining about elevator speed since they get on faster (they don't seem to mind the walk from an elevator to another). After I got the lifts arranged that way I got my 5 stars in the very same month.
Rate up for people to see !

Can we lose the auto-pause, please? I'm a bit of a multitasker, and there's no need me to have constant mouse focus while I'm waiting for more cash to build up

I have like 2 Staff Elevators and 13 Big Elevators.
MEANWHILE - CUSTOMERS: More elevators would be great
Me: ................ OK!!! THEN I WILL MAKE THIS HOTEL BE LIKE A 1 BIG ELEVATOR :D

Fun game, I find the high capacity elevators play negatively for you. They take longer to move, because they wait until they're full. I stuck to using normal elevators in straight vertical lines, then disperse high capacity ones randomly through parts of the hotel. Less complaints about them.

i have 23 elevator shafts.. and still that's the only complaint i get that's keeping me from 1000% positive feedback...

When building your elevators, try to think about how real life elevators work in tall buildings or very large boats. You don't need a single elevator that goes from the very top to the very bottom- it simply takes too much time for the elevator to travel that distance and most people only need to go up a floor or two. The guy on the second floor is probably going to use the laundromat on the third floor, and the guy on the fifteenth will use the one on the thirteenth. My hotel has two parallel normal capacity elevators spanning 11 floors each before they swap over to new ones, and a single staff elevator spanning 22 before it swaps, and I have no complaints about elevator speed. You could also do what Bobsson says, but that sounds extremely expensive and not very space-efficient.

how to beat the elevator issue - don't put one giant tall one in just put 2 or 3 tall then connect another 2 or 3 tall to the side of that one (its based on how long they have to wait for the elevator to arrive not how many elevators)

elevator problem is fixed by building shorter elevator shafts i only build mine 8 floors long and then i build one next to it for the next 8 floors

My OCD makes me want to rearrange the rooms so badly. Seriously tempted to restart with a better organization strategy

Oh, you don't like waiting for elevators? Fine, all elevators are now only three floors long. You need to change cars every third floor, but you never have to wait for them!
Ungrateful pricks.

I think it's completely annoying that my costumers say that they want for example a pool and a couple of months later no one is in it. When I destroy it, suddenly everyone complains that there's no pool! How is this possible!

Guys, there's a trick to the elevators, so that you only need them in two places, and they can last you a whole game. You need to set them up in a snakelike fashion, 3 floors at a time, so that people have to change elevators all the time. And because they are moving, they do not complain about the fact that it still takes about a week to get to the top floor. Here's a screenshot of how I did it: http://bit.ly/ugcBQU All of those are basic elevators and lasted me all the way till 5 stars with about 3 complaints total.
+ This so more people can see it.

I can see why my guests complain about the elevators... they are waiting in line for several days just to get to their rooms.....
