All elevators and no rooms makes Dragon Lodge a dull hotel. All elevators and no rooms makes Dragon Lodge a dull hotel. All elevators and no rooms makes Dragon Lodge a dull hotel. Even after I build 10 shafts they still suggest I build more! WHY?! Half my hotel is elevators!

best results with elevators: Stairstep them 4 floors at a time. The guest only complain if they have to wait, not on how many they take, so force them to use 10 lifts to go each way to top floor and they will give you 3 thumbs up. Just make sure to have enough staff elevators or they will waste all their time on travel. Currently have 287 standard, 178 suites and 140 presidential with an 860 rating!

Over half of my hotel was just elevator shafts, yet they still want more. Do the guests go to a hotel not to stay in a room, but to ride elevators all day?

There should be a way to set like a work perimeter. Otherwise you end up with all the maids on the same floor going to the closest rooms with tiny bits of trash while the rooms higher or lower in the hotel pile with garbage and all the maids are following each other around. If there was a way to keep one or two maids on one floor, or set their patrol area, that would be nice.

Fun game but there are a couple of annoying things. The elevator situation. Serious... I have 8 elevator shafts and 1 staff elevator, it seems that unless my entire hotel is elevators, I can't please these guests. Next, I spend a fair amount of time waiting for money to come it. Please take away the pausing when I click out of the game, I wanted to use Excel to plan my hotel and couldn't. Lastly, how about some achievement or reasons to play after 5 stars? This game took less than 30 minutes to beat, I want some replayability...

if i had my own hotel, i think i know what mentality my engineers would have. Engineer: laundry machine broken?? smack the fu%*er with mah hammer!!!! Computer broken?? smack the fu%*er with mah hammer!!!!.....guest wont pay room fee??!! CUT TO Me: damnit 30 years no parole.

Needs to put in a better AI. Maids should organize themselves so not everyone is on the same floor. Guests should spread out to different rooms of the same facility. Kinda sucks to have your hotel downgraded because all the guests wouldnt walk one laundry/cafe/arcade/internet cafe etc over

Beat the game, got all 50 stories, all the expandable expansions (Width thingy), and it makes 1000 times more money in 1/10 of a secound than I will make this year. Litterally 8 To 10 blocks of elevators (THE BIG ONES +2 staff elevators), and 100+ maids, 20 engineers, 6 receptionists, 12 waiters, and 1 me. And in all of this I have learned that 1) THERE IS NEVER ENOUGH F***IN ELEVATORS and 2) An engineer can FIX ANYTHING BY JUST SHAKING A HAMMER OR WRENCH IN FRONT OF SAID BROKEN ITEM.

I realized there was no way to go bankrupt. I now have 3000 maids, 1500 waiters and 4 receptionists roaming my hotel and only ONE elevator. Also, 1.8 billion in debt!

The moral of the story, kids, is that people are jerks and will NEVER be satisfied. And you need more fracking elevators.

I solved my Elevator problems, instead of using massive shafts that go 50-60 floors, I replaced them all with mini shafts that only go 3 Floors high each... and Yes, if your room is on the 60th floor, you WILL need to take about 20 Elevators to get to it

It seems that 4 elevator shafts is the golden number. You stagger the elevator shafts so that you have pairs of elevators running on each floor, with all 4 of them meeting up at least every 5 floors. It's pretty much like the system they use in modern, fancy New York skyscrapers and hotels, where they have Express elevators. It forces the people to switch elevators often, decreasing wait time for each elevator while they travel through the building. The irony is that they take longer, on average about 7-10 days longer to go from one end of the building to the next, but the wait for each elevator ride lasts no more than 1-3 days, so they stop complaining as much.

I hear a lot of people are having trouble with enough elevators. The problem is actually the number of elevator SHAFTS. i.e. if someone wants to go from 1st floor to 50th floor, they will take up one spot all the up. So you need multiple elevator shafts. For example having elevators going from floor 1-15, and then stopping, and on an adjacent column on floor 15 is an elevator shaft going from 15-30. That way, those that want to go from floors 15-30 have their own elevator. You will need more elevators on the lower floors than the upper ones, sort of like a pyramid. I have quite a lot of elevators myself going from floors 1-3, which is also where a lot of my receptions are based.

I spent $150,000 on an expansion, so I could build 2 new columns of big elevators. 18 days later: "Good enough. I'd suggest building more elevators."

Customer: I'd like a presidential suite. Reception: Gladly sir, just sign here and take the elevator to floor 41. Have a nice day. (an hour later) Customer: I'd like to checkout please. Reception: No problem- may I ask how was your stay? Customer: It was great but I would suggest ADDING MORE ELEVATORS. Reception: Oh, we're sorry to hear that sir, but our 175 speedy elevators were meant to provide quick and excellent service to suit your needs. Customer: Well I had so much fun riding them that I couldn't stop!

The game pauses when you click away? I'd like the option to turn that off, it seems there are long periods where there is nothing else to do but gather cash and I'd like to do something else with my computer while that happens.

Welcome to Elevator Hotel, for your enjoyment we have added a T.V, Restroom, Cafe, and a Swimming Pool in each elevator. Hope you enjoy your stay.

I discovered a fix for the "needs more elevators" complaint.
Build one elevator from the ground floor until level 5. Then, right next to it, build an elevator from level 4 that covers 5 floors (floor 4 until floor 8). Then right next to that, (above your original elevator, with one floor in between the top and bottom elevators) build another elevator that covers 5 floors (from floor 7 until 11).
Repeat the pattern.
You should have multiple elevators in two columns that go five floors, then have a space in between, then another elevator that goes five floors. This may be more expensive, but it's much more efficient.
This works because instead of having one elevator in one shaft covering 49 floors, you have multiple covering smaller areas, which means less queues for the customers.
+ so others can see.

Nice game, but elevators turn out to be the most important thing in your hotel. Guests get unhappy about elevator wait times, not total trip time, so lots of little elevators only 4 stories deep work better than single long shafts. Which is weird.

Dear Blonde Help Woman, I know I have two receptionists. I have two because I get complaints otherwise. Kindly shut up and let me run my god damn hotel.

Great game I love it, the only thing I have to complain about it is the maids. Their AI seems to be stupid, there could be a room loaded with trash but 3 maids all go for the same room with a single piece of paper on the floor instead.
