This has a markedly substandard battle interface.
Waiting for the story line to work through itself is painful: very bad writing and no way to skip it. When you make your game look bad from the opening page, it really harms the overall impression.

i'd love to play this this game but the unit AI is autistic. the archers run in attempting melee while melee units will walk back and forth when ranged units attack them. it looks great but its far too frustrating to enjoy :(

For BOTD and the medium badge: just use Elves, and the Archer Cavalry. Once they exp up to 3rd level and you spend your shields on upgrades (atk, defense, meat, gold) they'll pretty much steamroll the map for you.

so I paused the game to take a look at the map, but you can't move while pausing. what hard could it do, togeproductions? and you have a lot of coming soon stuff. this game seem to have been forgotten. look at the dates of last updates.

Tons of issues still. Please fix. game has major potential buts its wasted because its impossibly hard at later levels due to game design. Unit control, Unit AI, etc.

One thing I find annoying is 'survive fox x minutes', because I often win before that point, and have to do the map all over again.

Here are some tips: 1. Never use your shield on squads and spells, all to upgrade tree until you completed it; 2. Start your game with a kick start by liking and following those 4 links. You get 4 shields to start with; 3. Always summon Dragon Militia, they are your best friend; of course spam those squads. Good luck to you!

and then there are Dragon Riflemen, who have LESS range than archers despite being "upgraded".
Rifles of any kind shoot farther than a bow. No, just no, dude.

Also, Dragon Knights are the "upgraded" versions of Dragon Swordsmen and are "hard as iron" but have MUCH lower armor. What?

So, experience SHOULD be gained by how many kills done, but it isn't, and that seriously sucks. It makes grinding suck.

This game is hard.. but only because the AI is some of the dumbest AI I've ever seen in a game. Truly frustrating, COULD be a great game but AI ruins it all.

Aggro on other enemy units for no apparent reason and attacking insignificant building while the enemies are right in front of them... Also I can't kite in this game.. Hehehe

I've noticed my guys keep getting 'caught' on the path. They'll be in the middle of the road, no obstacles, but stop progressing, even though they're still trying to move. Have to send them back and forth a bit to get them around.

Can get both badges and through ENTIRE GAME using nothing but archers on auto mode. No spells, no unit unlocks, no moving the battle view...nothing. Every match, simply put game on fast and push 2 until you win. Repeat. Spend upgrades accordingly.

There are many things wrong with the game mechanincs. (1) Why do I have to toggle between units and spells? Why can't they both be on the screen at the same time so that I can choose quicky, even if they both need gold to be summoned. (2) Why can't I move the map around when paused? (3) Some tasks require me to kill "x enemy squads" but the enemy doesn't even summon then before I kill it's castle even in hard mode when I'm trying to take it slow.

My previous comment was the negatives of the game. So, here I'll list the positives. I got to play as a race of dragons ^v^ yay... okay, I admit it was a little silly, and I found myself only using squires and mages, and the hero dragon who just destroys everything. (dragon riflemen? really?)

But um, the awkwardness of the units aside, it was adorable.
And while yes, it's true, the grammar and spelling of the story and briefing and even the descriptions was not exactly the best (this dragon knight has the best sword.... even though he uses an axe... axes are not swords.) But, again, I found the story charming and cute, and often times laughed at some of the things the units had to say ^^; Overall I really enjoyed this game. if the issues everyone is mentioning got cleaned up a bit more I'd be more than happy to give this five stars <3

Ok, I am sad to say that the majority of the comments were correct. The pathing and auto movement system is very... um..
Here's an example from a rifleman based map. There were 2 enemy castles, which kept taking two routes to capture the villages back. And my soldiers would auto move to the 'closest village' in proximity to my Castle.
This means, that they kept going left, capturing the village and destroying the tiny squads of enemies, then went alllll the way to the right of the map, to capture the village... and then back again. ^^ they kept that up for like 5 minutes.
So, yeah, I don't even want to know what happened to cause all these comments 'BEFORE' the pathfinding fix.
Also, it doesn't help that my units kept getting stuck for odd reasons on certain pathways. The enemy units got stuck too, which was sad.

Such a bad game doesn't deserve a badge of the day. Yes, everything but the gameplay is great. But... ITS A GAME. Gameplay is the most important part of a game. Bad gameplay=bad game.

I really wanted to give this game five stars. Very fun and addictive, but as others have stated, the unit control/movement is horrible. Units don't register orders all the time, stand still other times, and often get stuck. Other than this, I love the game. 4/5

Way to much time needed to micro-manage unit movement while the game is paused due having to keep auto-move turned off since it's can only seem to turn left.

where the hell is the option to guard an area? either they move over there and play pin cushion, or move attack over there and then !!SQUIRREL!! go wandering off...
