I had to look up Taniwha after seeing the word it in "Anika's Odyssey: Land of the Taniwha" which is the game's full title: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taniwha. So, I guess that purple lake creature is the Taniwha? Given it only plays a brief role in the game I don't know why the game was named after it. /shrug Also, be sure to scratch the giant man's back and give a kiss to the mountain after it scares the eagle away. :)

I like this game. Nice hand drawn graphics. Fun varying little things to do. It's not a long game, but at least it's not repetitive. It knows its length and doesn't pad it like a lot of games do (5 hours of content stretched to 500 hours for example). No microtransactions.

Why would the forest people put extra gears in the machine even though they make it not work? How do they even get to the mine?

What an absolutely delightful quick game! I am ensorcelled by this charming and beautiful adventure. The art style is delicious and the characters are each unique and wonderful. This girl is so brave and is so used to these mythical creatures that she gives them back scratches and kisses! I love it so much. Even the characters that are implied like the gnomes living in the mushrooms are a delight and there is so much subtle story that really makes this world feel fleshed out and real! Thank you for this, great job team!

Despite being a click game, I find it relaxig and its always nice that it actually makes you think. Good job with the art.

Oh boy, the art is on point, animations and narrative are cool enough, but the interaction is very unintuitive on where you can click.

What a sweet, wonderful game this is! It perfectly captures the vivid imagination of a young child sent to perform a mundane task and the places her mind might wander along the way.

Is it just me or was the boulder that got the goat extra large compared to the other rocks that came out before it? It's not just me who noticed that, right?

Art is great, but too many puzzles are of that subpar old style of "guess what the developer was thinking", including some mechanics which po out of nowhere and weren't shared before.

Strange game, wasn't too difficult. The giant goat scared me a little. I'm not sure if Anika has the greatest morals, tricking those owl creatures into looking into a hole and then shoveling it into the hole and rolling a rock towards a giant ram.

I really dislike games like this, but as a part of the 2007 quest I'm forced to play it. No directions, no hints, no clue what you're supposed to do beyond randomly click everything in sight for 20 minutes trying to get through it with my sanity...

This game is really frustrating. There's not enough to interact with and no way to guess what you are supposed to do.

This game is extremely awesome, the graphics are beautiful for an old game and the music, the art. Even the story is just beautiful. I'm not really a fan of these types of games, but this one really sparked this genre and I'm glad I stumbled apon this.

Fantastic game. Being 6+ years since this game was created, thank you for such a great experience. In my opinion it rates higher than similar games to this day. Very underrated game. I needed a relaxing game after today, and that's exactly what I got.
