For those struggling to get enough plankton for the corals to grow, you can click and hold and touch several zooplankton, then drag all of them (preferably the same color) to the coral that you want to feed and grow. You can also fight off the enemies that eat your coral by clicking on them.

Could have been a cute game, but the mechanics are wonky as heck. You can't fine tune what you click on in a crowded area, there are no instructions so you're having to guess at what you're supposed to be doing/mixing, and finally, the lack of area to put anemones adds to the unpleasant tedium of the game. Not worth the achieves.

Broken last time it was on badge and still broken now. Last time memory issues gave it steadily increasing lag which I fought through until giving up on the last level twice, this time the plankton do not appear. No save function means that refreshing to clear memory brings you back to the start.

you have to drag the floating corals to rocks to set them, then drag plankton to the new corals to grow them. the corals are the things that look like jellyfish if you didn't already know.

Game is nice a cute, but a relaxing mode (less or no enemy fish) would be nice. Aquarium mode gets really frustrating since you quickly end up with a pair of those big round fish who just won't go away for more than a split second no matter how much you click on them... I only have one mouse and if they constantly have it busy I can't build reefs at all. ^^;;

It took me 67 minutes to beat. The trick with the coral is: field one type at the time. For example, if you have a flock of over 9000 (!) blue planton and one red one, the blue coral will just flash red to them and waste your blue plankton, yes: just for that one red one. Even fielding one blue one at at a time and feeding it to the blue coral gets you done faster than big flocks with at least one wrong planton. Another trick with the big flock is to let go near the target coral and feed it the correct plankton, even one-by-one is good. Follow the color codes of the game like a N**i or it will grief you to death and mess up your mental health, your wrist and your will to live. This suicide hotline was brought to you by the depression drug Prozac - "Kaleidoscope Reef for your depressive future!"

Hey Trickysheep if this is your standard for for game quality then do the gaming community a favor and stop making games immediately and choose a new career that has nothing to do with electronics like Amish wood working.

The badge of the day is not worth it. Takes forever, is tedious and if you return to menu you have to start all over again. The game simply is not fun.

I feel like it could be a good game, given that things were more clear: we never know what we can interract with -wich can lead to some frustration (like the volcano level and the whale level), we don't really know where we can put our corals and where we can't, and we don't know wich fish are "nice and decorative" and wich are "mean"...
So, put some explanations in the start if you can't find a way to do it in-game and it should already feel better.

WORST controls ever! also who needs a tut, right? I seriously dunno what are some people thinking when they call themselves "game devs", it's not just about fancy colours and moving pictures.

Pretty easy game, went to aquarium mode and come on, could there not be a 'no enemy' code or something. Repetitive clicking on fat fish is annoying

A little tedious, so here are some tips (possible SPOILERS)
In general, if fish give you a hard time, click on them. For the level that needs you to click oysters to generate planktons, it is easier if you place the coral in the positions where the same coloured plaktons will go to later. Place similarly coloured corals together, and all corals as close as possible together

Nice game concept, and it was rather fun in the first level or two, but after that point, the levels begin to get really tedious to the point where it almost feels like a grind. 3/5 stars.

smaller plants need less foods. sometimes stick some food together is also a good idea, even before "the plant" is born.

avoid lag? : make this game the only browser tab open. and for those that think the game is too tough: avoid oil hit all the nasty enemies of your reef building , get the right sort of bacteria colour to match. on the last level: even oil shot directly at your plant can be intercepted and hitting the coral eating creature here is more important: he eats finished plants.

Got to the 4th or 5th screen, it when moving between levels it didn't scroll far enough for me to actually do anything.
I hit quit to reload the reef, and was happy to learn this completely restarted my progress. Glad to know quit restarts the entire game not just your current reef .... :(

Sheesh, all of you whining about the game lagging and having no save : get a computer from this century, it take barely half an hour to finish. I just did, was surprised to already be at the end, and it never slowed down.

Tried the game on my low-end laptop for the badge, saw the comments here and started using my medium-end PC, game wasn't so laggy anymore.

Very little enjoyment behind this one trick pony. The art style is nice but the game play is shallow and one dimensional
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
OK. I don't have a problem with slow. I even had fun figuring out the tricks of each level. But I can't beat this game because of it doesn't save and becomes more and more laggy, by the (I think) last level even I think it's unplayable.

great. while i won't deny the fact that it's a fun game (honestly it is, i can't just give it one star), it's as good a game now as it was to me when it first came out: worthless, as it is infuriatingly laggy and completely unbeatable. literally. i mean i literally cannot finish this #%*$ game. pick something that works, dammit.

This game became a lot easier to manage once I realized that you could collect a small swarm of plankton just by grabbing one and holding the mouse down while mousing over the others. Many (if not all) threats can be attacked with clicking, too.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Boring. Annoyingly repetitive. Difficult to figure out what I need to do and then get it done. My hand is cramping up already and I want to save this and play another time when I don't feel like slamming the mouse down and yelling...HOW DO I FEED THE YELLOW ONES WHEN THE RED POISON THINGS KEEP EATING ALL THE DAMN FOOD!!! But sadly I can't save and try again when I am calmer and by the third level I am in fact this frustrated. Might be worth the frustration if there was any fun to it. 1 star is generous.

I remember trying to get the badge a few years ago but ultimately giving up. I remember the game to be much much longer then. Am I just getting old or were there changes?

The reg levels were fun to play, but what´s the point of the aquarium mode? Only the whales and "bad" fish coming, and you have to defend from them, but there´s no progress, no new levels, is that just an infinity mode? It gets tedious after a few minutes of playing:(
