When this was first released I thought the graphics were good, but the game was 'meh'. I've just spent over an hour playing again, and I have to say, the changes you have made to this game are excellent - 4 stars!
I'm an old-school arcade guy, so I'm always looking for great top-scrolling action, which you have provided in droves. BTW, the bosses flashing when near death... a classic device that I appreciate, one which adds a lot more drama to a game than a life-bar.

Same here, the health and power bars are flashing randomly so that you don't know what is remaining. I'd like a power like magnet to gather the money easily too. Good game, keep going this way!

Its games like this that teach a valuble lesson. It teaches that Its completly ok to go riding down the street on your motorcycle with 4 guns pointing in different directions and Nothing will happen!!! You'll even get paid for it!!!

I absolutely love the animation style and the music. It makes me feel like I'm playing something on my old SNES. Makes me think of Super Contra, and that's a good thing. Nice work, guys! Also a good difficulty balance in it thus far (I'm not that far into it).

after playing for a while my dragon spirit disappears (this happens in any level) and a few seconds later also my main gun! How shall i beat them unarmed?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
loool, how to beat the 1st level without any hit, just dont move your mouse and stay in the start position...
by the way - bad game 1*

I see potential, but the game does need some brushing up. First of all, enemy bullets just blend into the backgroud. change color or make them more visible. Secondly, the gems enemies drop doesn't scale with level progress. I was collecting 100~ish per level when upgrades need 200~300 to raise one lvl. Third, it was a bit annoying how if you click during story dialogues trying to hurry the reading, you instead get an awkward dialogue skipping.

The fourth boss moves side to side way faster than me, makes it impossible to avoid his beams. Is this just my shitty computer at work?

Im having a problem with a bug... suddenly the caracter stops shooting the bullets, then he stops shooting the spirits and then some enemies start disapearing too. No matter how good one can be, its impossible to finish this game with only the defence balls(problably)... Nice game tho! Keep up the good work!

A few suggestions: Alternate upgrade paths (Such as having weaker homing spirits or stronger straight firing spirits; scatter fireballs or a more focused attack) with the ability to reset if your chosen path isn't working. The ability to know what your hit box is would be rather nice, especially when the game gets chaotic in the end game. Finally, something to let you know when your health gets low would also help.
I enjoyed this game, and I hope to see a sequel.

I can't pass the final boss, it throws the purple waves and destroy the dragon even if I have more than a half of life, and the dragon moves slow even with the upgrades!!!

Character will randomly stop firing fireballs during a level. Also the speed upgrade makes very little difference to your speed.

Speed metal, auto-fire, bugs, this game is what i am looking for.
Forget what everyone else says, beyond the critical errors that have occurred, this is an awesome game.

Yeah the bugs - dragon spirits not working (not just with using dxu) and the speed powerup not working make the final boss way too hard.
Remember when you update (if you update) not to change the name of the flash file or it'll wipe out our saved games.

4/5 Good game, but can get polished, upgrade system needs a rework, each ability should be explained, dialogues are very simple, almost funny from the cliche, the girl was running away from something but was quickly forgotten, and why wasn't she surprised by the boy that came out of the egg?

lvl 9 is bugged: the 3rd boss in that level doesnt properly die. when it dies, the money appears and can be collected, but the boss doesnt disapper. it just moves to the middle of the display and stays there. nothing more happens after that. it cant be shot, no other enemys appear and level doesnt end.

I realize they were tracking energy after the soul merge, but if EIS really wants dragon energy, wouldn't it make more sense for them to kidnap the dragon rather than the girl?

I was just about to say that, even though most racy movies have a more well-written storyline, the game itself is really fun. Then i noticed that it doesn't save your progress. No autosave, no savefiles. If you have the time and persistence to play it in one session, you might still want to give the game a try, but i'll pass until a save feature is implemented.

@Kazan Epic: The same, wtf? No save? Also, start a game and don't move anything. You can win a level without even playing! The same with 2 and 3, you only need to fight the boss. "What were they thinking?"

Okay, the clone boss bug is still there (I hadn't encountered it before the update). Basically, I killed the main boss before a clone was dead - I think that triggered the bug. After that things got haywire since I had to kill myself since the clone wouldn't die. Some of the enemies were invisible, the dragon spirits stopped spawning, etc.
Also, I don't think the speed upgrade works....I upgraded it to maximum, wasting a bunch of gems, and didn't notice any real improvement in my speed - this makes the 4th boss way too hard since it is impossible to avoid his lasers.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Alright, so I watched that video showing someone defeating the 4th(?) boss with no speed upgrades, and he was able to stay within the laser beams no problem. Yet, even when I have all the speed grades, my character still moves too sluggishly to keep up and stay within the beams. I tried this out with both keyboard and mouse controls, but nothing seems to make a difference. I honestly believe that this is something that you need to fix for THIS game, and not just say that you'll fix it for part 2. If you even think that this is something worth fixing.

4/5. Great game, but the story and dialogue were so horribly cliche I think I took more damage from that than the bullets in-game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I like this game, but it's hard to tell where the bullets are a lot of times. They are small and pale in color and they aren't very distinguishable from the background. Maybe increase the color saturation of the bullets?
Also, the numbers after collecting gems are distracting and I'm not real fond of the collection mechanic in general.
