in theory you could make a level where you can get infinate points, just put the re-drop in how did you do the 2177070 one?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I can't get my mega-points levels to actually finish though. A bug causes the black balls to jump 'into' a few violet balls, then the violet ball becomes indestructible, the black ball never dies and the level never ends... :-/

Hey, teenagekick, I tried that just now - a level that gives an insane score with no input.
1st attempt : 100k.
2nd attempt: 2,177,070!!!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
to be fair, i would remove the ability to amass black balls busted from the custom level editor, its far too easy to rack up the score, i got that 1000 busted in about 30 minutes, hadn't noticed it clocking up untill acid mentioned it
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
chill me, see those tokens that you have been collecting, when you hit one it says "only 'N' left" you know which levels you still have to collect some on by the red dots above the level
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
lol, was messing about in the level editor seeing how high a score i could get from a custome level, have a play with it, i managed to get a level that gave me 85,000 points without having to do anything once it was started

7 'world records'. Over 16K ahead of the nearest competitor. I retire, whilst ahead. :-)
That was really fun.
Level 2-2 could theoretically net an infinite score, since we can keep getting fresh balls, so as long as we use fewer points to thrust the ball into the octopus than we gain, we're gonna keep climbing up.
If you're prepared to make tweaks, I'd suggest removing the thin outlines round circles.
Making it so that the balls take longer to disappear would also be appreciated. Just now, even if it's travelling fairly quickly in the horizontal, it still disappears. I'd appreciate a second more to 'save' my balls with a thrust.
Only other thing i'd suggest is adding some better instructions - it was only after half an hour or so that I realised I was gambling 5 pts and could get a notably bigger score by 'boosting'.
Saving would really make this game way, way better though.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
it really is the only thing missing, with that save i can see you well on your way to a nice cash prize with this one. keep up the good work:)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i agree, rather than just keeping to try and improve, much better idea, also like the world record at the top to give you an idea of what sort of score is possible so you know wich levels are worth the gamble first and which you have already done well on
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
No probs.
If you're after a high score, it's vital to unlock the last level.
Yet another reason the game needs a save feature, with so much to unlock/do!
Btw, I like the Metropolis Street Racer-type system of 'gambling' your high score here.

Got 7202 on level 4-2!
Collecting both 'x2' things was the key.
The hardest part of this game was getting the balls on 2-4 and 3-1.
I really like the strategy in getting rid of the grey circles, changing size and thrusting. These things really help to set it apart from other games.
Regardless of the quality though, I'm gonna change my score to 3/5 until saving is enabled. I hate the idea that I need to keep my browser open if I want to keep improving my score. With the way the game's now set up, saving seems essential!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Decided to lower my score to 4/5 until saving is implemented.
I originally disliked this one compared to the original (because of the lack of the wierd atmospheric background sounds) but the mechanics are way better and seems like a real reinvention of the 1st game.
graphically, the skulls seem incongruous with the thick lines and 'cuddly' abstraction elsewhere. Also, I'm not too keen on the thin outlines.
Really digging the game though!

This is an awesome game, even if you can't save. and for you, creator, I'm am giving it 5/5 and favoriting, but I will wait to continue when it gets popular and you make saving.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
this game is so close to a 5/5 the only thing it needs is to be able to save your progress so you don't have to start fresh every time, normally this would inspire me to
give a 1/5 due to the annoyance but because the quality of the rest of the game makes up for it im going for 3/5 untill progress saveing is possible

Now that you unlocked the final level, revisit all the levels and see what happened to those "mystery balls" in the background... :) Time to score some serious points!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Note that when you hit a black ball, you can drop later balls of similar size. So later in levels you might find small or big balls, hit them, and revisit old levels that felt too difficult...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Level 3-4 is WAY hard.
I can understand that we need to hold the button to shrink the ball before release, but I can never get it small enough to go below the green circles.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The rules could be better explained but it seems a great game!
I like the method of level-unlocking and the thrusts are a great mechanic.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Woah just realized how to use the thrust. That gives this a 5/5 without level editor and stuff. Faved. I hope this game gets the attention it diserves.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Love the games. The addition of the level editor was nice too. It is a little to random and luck based for my liking. One thing i would add in a second one (wirch there should be) is a little more interaction. For example mayby a if you tap right or left it moves the ball a bit. Overall 4/5 but because of the orriginality and level editor 5/5.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Sorry about the game not saving the player's progression... :( I had to limit the features to get this out... If the game gets some success, then I'll implement also that feature.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
When the bouncing black balls explode, then the level ends. And a black ball explodes when it stops moving, bounces 200 times, or hits one of those skull balls.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So... what determines when a level ends? I am playing the fourth one, and the ball is happily bouncing around on top of all those pink ones. And then, out of nowhere... that level is over.
