Under rating threshold (show) A replay feature on previous levels would be really nice for leveling older ships.

Under rating threshold (show) It would be nice if there was a repeatable mission in every system, so we could fool around and not screw ourselves over by experimenting with shipbuilds or gear. Also, the level cap per system, while being a reasonable gamemechanic, seems rather illogical in-world: either 1. i'm technologically not advanced enough to upgrade beyond a certain limit or 2. the battles are not as much of a challenge. If 1, then visiting an advanced system should remove the level cap in all prior systems. If 2, it doesn't make sense that killing a level x ship in one zone is regarded less of a challenge then the same level x ship in another zone. It slightly irks me, but it's a minor issue really. Great game all in all.

Under rating threshold (show) Great mechanics. Horrible difficulty curve. New units are near impossible to level due to the inability to replay lower level missions with them. At least make the new units have a level that starts appropriately for the area they're sold at.

Under rating threshold (show) Way too easy to completely screw yourself over in this game. And you don't know you've screwed yourself over until it is too late and you have to start a brand new game. There is no way to salvage anything. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but the difficulty curve is too steep and invisible.

Under rating threshold (show) I really enjoyed this game. As long as you spend your money on buying new ships and getting them to make the final kill you can get them upgraded pretty quickly. The first part of the game is the hardest, the middle game is easy and u will find yourself free to destroy the enemy with weaker ships with the help of a main higher level ship to aid. The last part of the game will be difficult but as long as u saved enough money to buy some cool stuff for the end and researched correctly you will be fine. Took me 2 goes to finish this game. Just be careful on what u upgrade and try and get at least 8 ships kicking ass at some point. Only bad point was that I couldnt visit all the systems in the game :P Would be nice after completing the game u are able to do so.

Under rating threshold (show) awesome game. it looks difficult the first try, but once you realize that every system has a level cap and develop different strategies to level all of your ships equally, you won´t have any problems lategame. some tipps: xp is rare, don´t waste it for ships who reached the level cap in a starsystem already and level the xp perk for every ship to 10 . also try to advance in the game as fast as possible so you can get better ships as soon as possible. focus on leveling one skill/ship and don´t forget to grab a command ship skilling "issue orders" to get some crazy damage. i finished the game with 50k credits spare, 11 ships btw. lvl 39-54 and 6 xp improving items (+15 and +25%).

Under rating threshold (show) Interesting concept. I have to say, I was a bit confused at first, but then the Tutorial let me know what all those icons meant and I got the hang of it. One thing, though, can we please see the stats of our own ships on mouse-over when we're selecting ships for Missions, like we can see the stats of the enemy ships? I can't tell what ships would be best to send out sometimes. P.S. Perks are always awesome. Thanks for having those in the game.

Under rating threshold (show) Oh my, all I have to play are two unwinnable levels and there's no way to grind more levels or XP. Solution? There is none! Undefined, I've always loved your games, but there HAS to be a way that you can allow level replays. The game is very fun and addictive as is, but having to restart because of some bad choices isn't going to encourage people to play this for very long.

Under rating threshold (show) It would REALLY be helpful to have more mouse-over info. Like, when in battle, what kind of the three damage types is my ship doing. Or when the enemy's defense is listed '0,1,1', which is which again? Etc...

Under rating threshold (show) There is currently a bug where the game autosaves after each mission, after exp is handed out, but BEFORE the leveling process. If you quit playing after a mission in which you leveled up, your new level is saved, but the actual "level up" (stats increases for ship and for weapons + perk) isn't, which leaves you with a weaker ship closer to the level cap. To avoid this bug, when you want to quit playing after a mission in which you leveled up, simply start a mission and immediately retreat to save the upgraded ship.

Under rating threshold (show) it would help is there were a way to check how the upgrades go. I meean, a few of them are at maximum strength at two upgrades. it's easy to hit the upgrade button and do absolutely nothing. Good game though. I am enjoying what I can do, some of my lucky picks.

Under rating threshold (show) So with the last few games from undefined, it kind of feels as if they haven't been really play-tested much. Some are boring, most are slow or laggy, and invisible/impossible difficulty curves. Don't get me wrong: I love the different things you've tried, the various types of games coming out. Keep putting out new games, just ... maybe shuffle up your play-testers to get some new feedback. Because certain things that get brought up every game don't seem to be addressed. Sorry for rambling. I love this type of game. I really wanted it to work, and I may come back and give it another 4 hours in a few days or so. But the inability to train your team, etc (all these points have been brought up by others, no need to rehash them here) make this one not so enjoyable to play after the third hour or so.

Under rating threshold (show) The gameplay is really good and I like the upgrade variety. The thing I hate the most is definitely the unbalanced gameplay. I've just gotten the first Warp Key and I literally have no idea how to advance forward: the easiest levels are capped at level 8 when my ships are level 9 and 10, so I get reduced exp, but the enemies are still hard as nails. My new ships are pathetically weak, and there's no easy way to grind them up to higher levels. For all the upgrade variety, the upgrades themselves are too weak -- a "fully" upgraded ship at level 10 still fights toe to toe with a ship at level 1, with the only difference being the level 10 dies more slowly - which isn't much comfort since you're almost always outnumbered. I have to say, this game feels like either a beta that's going to be patched twice before being abandoned, or just "unpolished" as usual.

Under rating threshold (show) I found Wasps surprisingly effective in the late game, not for their Rail Barrage but for their Tracer shot. It may look dinky in the beginning, but once it levels it deals massive direct damage at extreme range, and crits -more- than 100% of the time (I'm pretty sure I've been seeing it double-crit in the later levels... scary). I would also guess that using a Command's offense buff on a Rail Barrage Wasp would be rape in a can on turn 1. I made the mistake of trying to spec the first-area Bomber for Torpedo only to later discover that it damages far better with BFB (with massive Kinetic armor to negate the self-damage). There's a Bomber that becomes available later that offers a two-hit Torpedo that ramps up in damage far faster. I also tuned my Hulk for durability and make heavy use of Energy Syphon [sic], two of these can completely disable and then kill clusters of heavy enemy units, while the armor buff from a Command helps them get there intact.

Under rating threshold (show) really excellent game, with one big problem. I love the level up system and the ability to give perks and boost your weapons.... but the fact that you cannot go back and level old ships, nor can you reset them (ie, get rid of the upgrades but keep the xp so you can reset them) makes the difficulty huge. I'd recommend having both of these options (the xp reset should cost a pretty penny, more than buying a new ship tho).

Jul. 30, 2011

Under rating threshold (show) Great concept, but a few significant flaws keeps it from being a great game. As stated before, the difficulty scales very quickly, very early. This is mostly because of the level cap, which you hit almost as soon as you reach a new system. Caps are a huge pain, as they usually don't realistically portray the difficulty of each system. A lack of repeatable missions makes buying and leveling new ships almost impossible past a certain (early) point, as they start at level 1. Each mission is a juggling act between sending green ships to level them up, and sending veteran ships so you actually complete the mission. I'm starting to wonder if anyone has actually beaten this game, and how many times they had to restart to figure out the minmaxing necessary to do so.

Under rating threshold (show) Such a shame the level system lacks some touch, and the difficulty is balanced to some obscure way to setup your ships, and really most ships benefit from just leveling up one ability... so whats the big deal with having several choices when only one of them really counts?...

Under rating threshold (show) Found a bug with the Phantom class ship. It's paint target ability can be activated an infinite number of times on the same turn thus giving you the ability to destroy every enemy ship within it's range. Under rating threshold (show) Good game, but the insane defenses of the AIs later on in the game make multiple hit weapons simply useless, and they themselves do enough dmg to pulzerive your fleet in 1~2 turns. I don't think I'm the only one thinking the AI need rebalancing!

Under rating threshold (show) I'm a big fan of undefined's games, but this one seems a bit of a let-down. I love the idea and the different ships I've encountered, but it's a bit obnoxious to actually play. First of all, it's difficult to see all the information during battle or on certain status screens. I wish we knew what abilities a ship could get before we purchased it (i.e. some bombers learn BFB where some learn EMP Torpedo instead). Also, as everyone else has said, it would be better if we could train somewhere, or in the style of the early protector games, have a way to redistribute skill points. I love getting all the new abilities and trying them out, but it's led me to getting stuck and having to start over 2 or 3 times, and I haven't gotten past my 3rd system yet, which means there are plenty of ships I haven't even seen! However, I think the gameplay and game mechanics have a lot of potential, and I am looking forward to an amazing sequel.

Under rating threshold (show) Great game but it needs some serious balance improvements : - The inability to replay level makes it really difficult to raise level up of newly bought shisp. This also means that if you're stuck because you made the "wrong" choices (for an example, if you developped some crap skills), it is impossible correct you're strategy (reset is the only way). - Some weapons are totally useless due to the protection system : all weapons doing X shots, each shots doing Y damages (machin guns for example). ex : 10x6 damages (60 potential damage) could be great, but with an enemy having 5 as protection value, the "super paper bullet gun" does 10x(6-5) = 10 damages... Combat drill or damage boost item does seems to work for theses (rail barrage 3*6 damage + 2 battle computer (+3 dmg) + lvl 3 combat drill against protection of 9 : result : 3*0)

Under rating threshold (show) The level cap grows more annoying as i play, considering exp is a "limited resource" and you often hit the cap 2 missions before you can get the next system key, it feels like wasting potential. Seriously, please rework it or just get rid of it. Also, i noticed that you sometimes get a different upgrade choice for your 4th weapon slot (i went for an AoE weapon as 3rd immediately, so maybe it has a second option, too). If you don't get the upgrade there and then you'll get the old option again on next level up. Either make it a choice or, if the rare option is considered superior, show it greyed-out instead and give it a level requirement. When planning your shipdesigns, strategic choices are more satisfying than randomness.

Under rating threshold (show) This game is too complicated, no matter what I do I always lose. Please allow to be able to redo a mission for exp and credits, as in this game there is only one way to win: Do everything the developers way, no way out of that. Under rating threshold (show) Infuriating. This could be a good game, but right now the difficulty spikes way too quickly. I can't get past the first system. As far as I can tell, I didn't purchase equipment wisely or spend my points wisely, but I have no way of knowing that so early in the game. I feel that I have no choice but to start over. I have a level 7 ship and a level 8 ship, but they don't feel any different than any other level and they can still be taken out by a level 1 enemy, which doesn't seem right. Without any way to grind or reset points, I'm stuck. This could be a good game, but right now I feel like the game is just trying to read the mind of the developer.
