...why can't I choose whether I cast a spell or attack with melee? I have a warrior but I've lost so many times because he casted two spells that dealt no damage... Awful mechanics, I say

Really, put back the old battle system, if u want keep the speed bar, that is cool, but the boring part is that my character use magic attacks on enemies that are strong agaisnt magic and weak agaisnt melee and he uses melee attacks agaisnt enemies who are strong agaisnt melee and weak agaisnt magic. (sorry for my english)

The game has promise, but the tendency for the character to use sub-optimal attacks makes it really annoying; e.g., if you have invested a few points in the magic skill (which you almost certainly will need to since the magic training package improves not only magic defence but also magic), your character will stupidly keep casting spells even though his melee attacks are several times stronger. Also, while it's nice that potions are used automatically, it sometimes leads to a situation in which you fruitlessly burn through 10+ potions before dying anyway. Other irritations include the fact that we have no way of knowing we're about to max out a skill, unclear stat effects, and lack of information about how to gain piety and prestige. This is a game I could have very much liked, but the problems listed above have made me kind of hate it instead.

Anyone notice the story in the beginning is brushed off with an "OKAY"? It's like "The world needs you!" "OKAY MOM JEEZ...."

If your game is lagging clear your cookies it worked for me and it solved the lagging issue for all the other Protector games too.

wtf happened to this game. it used to be awesome. ran smooth, now its choppy and buggy. the leaderboards are so filled with cheaters that no one in top pages, not one person,played fairly.example: dungeons cleared:1st place has 35, 40th place has 29...and theres only 25 dungeons in the game....really really crappyboth te score board and the buggy game.this game been on my favorites list for over a year, may end up taking it off now :(

Yeah, it seems to be a hidden button glitch that sends you to the village page with a defeat status, and lowers your bravery.

There's a bug going around that if you click while it's changing screens or during a battle in genre(seems random in the genre situation) it insta-kills you.

Whyyy .. i came back to this game after what felt like years ... just to hate it ... why because my %$%ING DUMBASS WILL NOT STOP USING SPELLS he is shit at spell casting ... and i cant make enough money to make him better so he just keeps throwing spells that the enemy is resistant to until he dies again and again .. why why are you making me sit here randomly hoping that he will use his #$##ing sword that does enough damage to take down anyone watching as he dies after trying to cast a spell that doesn't hurt the enemy for the 15th #$#ing time!

Honestly, after playing all three games, I liked the second one by far the best. Three has prettier animation and (finally) a choice in gender, but the stress mechanic's imbalance interferes a lot with playability, the village/exploration mechanics seem over-complicated and less rewarding than in 2, and while the combat and dungeon system is much improved, a lot of things make less sense than the first two, and it feels like a crapshoot trying to figure out what will get you where.
Sometimes, less is more, especially when trying to make a playable game.

I want a Pet Protector kinda like this, but you have unlimited weeks. I like to progress my character but not in a limited time were I will eventually lose him.

I liked some of the improvements over 2, but somethings became worse. Overall I like Pet Protector 2 better. Hopefully 4th time will the charm.

After having played the first two games, I have to say the user interface is much improved in this one. However, this game goes far too fast, and most of that speed is in the resting. Not being able to control the battle system at all makes this feel more like a "come back and hit a couple buttons every so often" kinda game, and it sucks I can't choose to flee, or when to use potions. On top of that, the stress system causes the player to waste at least half their time of the game resting, which gains no money or treasure and the stat gains just aren't worth it. I like having to be able to have enough bravery to enter a dungeon, but starting the second dungeon you'd enter at 150 kinda hinders some people. By the time you have the money and the bravery to enter, you've wasted a lot of time resting. In my honest opinion, this game is the worst of the three in terms of gameplay, but best in terms of user interface.

This is a fascinating game i think remember playing a tiny bit of my pet protector but my pet protector 3 is awesome just imagine being the a use to be immortal hero now walking the earth as a last hope with a decent fight mechanic a decent realistic-ish feel when it comes to the dealing with stress economics and also needing rest.I would really like to know the creator of this game and ask where his idea of this came from etc and for what ever other reasons i love this game and in conclusion including the time limit(i would like it if you could change that with a hard 200 days a medium 312 im guessing and a easy 501)its a straight up no buts A+ of a game with what should be a rating 5 it should be favorited and added to a play list.Also I don't know if this person will keep working on it but if she or he does thank you.
