@lone and Fridge
First of all, Deep strategy, its not going to be easy
Second, this was made in 2008, those were extremly rare back then xD

Benefits
Beautiful concept. Careful game programming and strategy. Music is awesome. The author obviously took a great deal of care.
Concerns:
Game lags too much for the activity. That is a big problem, although it is slow to begin with. 2x speed and pause button would help.
HINTS TO WIN LEVELS WITHOUT LOSS
Advanced units such as Alchemist and Necromancer are under-powered AND over-priced. They add nothing to any map except impoverishing the bank.
Better to fill out the board and update all mages. KEEP ALL MAGES OF ONE KIND TOGETHER, as the specials do not stack. The only exception is the red fire mage, since it is a splash, not an infection.
This strategy is the only one I could find to beat the last Evil stronghold. Fooling with advanced units was a waste of time.

Just a god awful game, I gave it so many chances. It's absolutely ridiculous how you don't know what enemies are coming until the round before they come. It takes so long to get past levels, just to lose at the round before you finish the map. I know this is only the first game of the series but I still expected more. Mediocre... 1/5

Strategically, you should start putting your units late on the track, so that any new units get a chance to train, but then you have to wait for the enemies longer. A game so slowly paced you sacrifice strategy out of boredom is kind of failed...

you know, this or Protector 2 is probably the best of the protector games- I like it much better than the "hire hero" business found in protector 4. plus, I REALLY like the absolute in-depth protectorpedia. :)

i really like that game, but can't do more than 2 levels a day, otherwise would fall asleep.... needs definetly a speed up button

I like the fact that there is no fast forward button. It makes me think harder about how to kill them faster so it doesn't take so long!

Sire, a person would like ot purchase one of our archers for 25 coins. Should we allow him to?" "No, raise the price to 300 make him deem worthy enough to purchase one." "But sire, that is the price of 12 mages!" "So?

Good concept but honestly takes much too long in part because theres a lack of hotkeys and a fast forward button. I suppose being such an old game its to be expected.

Got to wave 20/20 on the first medium map. Trying to do the best of 2008 quest and I lost my last life. It would have been 5/5 maps completed but no i got the boss to 50 hp from 2500 hp.

Game was alright it lacks a certain something that makes me want to keep playing. I found it rather boring after 15 minutes. I dont know what it is but just something that engages the player more, oh and really needs faster gameplay.

Man I really like undefined's games. He's got alot of great ideas....but each game is just slightly broken in some way. As in this game is great but without a speedup gets tiring :\
