I think this game is a masterpiece in the whole series. There are missions where you must really show some tactical thinking to defeat the enemy. However, the AI is still lame quite often, if a sane player was there instead of AI, my chances would be slim if any at all.

A possible stratagy is holding back and waiting untill they run out of money and playing defencively. Build wisly and only when needed: planes can act as a barrior to some ground troops and are good against spider tanks. When a unit resives damage pull back to repair and put another one in its place...

This was a great game. I can say it's one of the few flash games I've invested more than 10 hours playing and actually completed all the goals and achievements in. Really worthwhile and very difficult at times.
It's not a frequent occurrence to see games that have high replay value or actual strategic thinking involved, but this game is a prime example of both. Worthwhile to anyone looking for a console-quality game but free and Flash-based.

fasinating... if u move a revieled stealth tank and move it without attacking or to nearby enemy units or jammer truck, u press undo move and your tank moves back but it is still cloacked.

If you accidentally move, there is an undo move button. It only works for the last move made and only if it was a move and not attack, but it works. You shouldn't have a problem with that,

I've got a better idea than battalion future. they said this all started back when the Akadians assaulted the Dragoons in a sneak attack. Why dont they go back to that war?

If you're having trouble with the bonus mission, try the following:
Retreat your southwestern units to the western shore of the lake; defend the bottleneck with cheap infantry covered by some artillery. Build a bunch of raptors to tackle the enemy bombers and infantry. Also build one Vulture to finish off crippled enemy units. Build two stealth tanks, send one along the northern edge and one along the southern edge, and launch surprise attacks on the enemy warmachines, supported by raptors. The third warmachine will be protected by a jammer truck, but now you can take your sweet time and just waltz in with tanks or whatever ground units you have left. Basically, as soon as the first enemy warmachine goes down, you are winning.

The company urbansquall who created and/or running all Battalion games was sold to Zynga and the dev's were still working on running Battalion Arena,then Zynga made them to do shit like Farmville,and we lost Battalion Arena. That douche company Zynga should have been taken down,so we can go on our way. If you want it,give this comment a plus PLEASE...

An excellent game, I really enjoyed the strategy involved. The new airship is devastating if used correctly. The only complaint I have is that several times the game froze on some kind of animation (like a vehicle being destroyed) and the game ceased to move. The chat window and all other kongregate functions still worked, just the game itself was stuck. I've never encountered this on any other game so I'm reluctant to think it is my computer, but it was very frustrating to have to start some of these long missions over when I was very near the end. Other than that, 5/5

@ darknut79: For level 4, just camp out at the bottom left corner of the map. There are 2 hills for your 2 ranged vehicles, and then your tanks should be able to hol dout well as long as you repair them when needed and safe. Eventually the enemy only makes $60 a turn, so their money will slowly decrease as they build spider tanks every turn. After a little while, they cannot make one every turn, then move in and finish them.

@TrollingUnicornX Ok, camp a mortar behind a mountain (Yes, I know their spiders can climb mountains. Just do it.) Whenever you see a spider that is NOT on a mountain tile, snipe it off with the mortar. Repair any melee tanks that get damaged; then put them in the front lines with ranged units in back. Destroy the War Machine with a ranged unit to win.

I love all Battalion games from Nemesis to Vengeance.The challenge and all the new units they have presented through out the series.

I love it... all the "Battalion" are good, nice storyboard, you need tatics, logigs and lot of patience to finish it.
The hard mode it's just little bit more difficult but with some strategies and a little bit of lucky will let you finish it!

Re: Chapter 4. If you sit still, the spiders will wave in one at a time, letting you pick them off with ranged vehicles. Do this (for a long time) until their treasury is low enough they're not producing one every turn (they still produce, just not every turn)... at this point you should be able to manage making your way along the path with at least one of your ranged, to kill the tank... all their units dead, you win.

for level 4, you have to destroy the scorpion tank in the lower right area...(it took longer than I thought: if you lose both [possibly even
just one, on hard] of your ranged units all you can do is restart).
hopefully this will help: the big tank is a good friend when you want to advance with the rockets and mortar...try to save it as well until you can hit the scorpion tank (block, advance, repair if covered by other units, etc.). Eventually use the rest as cannon fodder, if necessary :D

The main problem with the AI is that AI almost never build anti-air units. Just build lots of raptor fighters to block their way, and some rockets or battle cruiser to blow up all the rest, and you are all set.

@SkorpionGemini jammers arent usseless, planes can fly throught them if you move a jammer next to a plane and they arent supposed to prevent units in area to not be attacked, the area is for the planes not to pass. It isnt designed that the stealth doesnt pass its designed that stealth can pass but they un-stealth and when theyre ON the area not 1 square away. Please overview the details before commenting like this.

To anyone who thinks there's no tutorial... instead of starting with the clearly-marked BONUS mission, try choosing single player from the menu and and playing the bootcamp there.

level 4 very hard but you have to be patient wait till their money goes down get both the rocket and mortar trucks at a distance you can shoot with both of them which is where they always send their units to the same spot once they run out can cant buy a unit every turn thats when you move slowly around. (note you only need to keep one of them alive until you destroy the tank behind the mountain.

Smaller resolution or better edge scrolling or something please. Super annoying to have the game constantly shifting focus and to have to find the little button on the edge to put the screen back where you want it.

Bonus map is bugged for sure. Enemy moves a couple of units and then doesn't end turn. Ever. Little icon in the top left makes it seem like the enemy is thinking, but I doubt that I've completely stumped the computer on the first turn.
