For those are having a hard time understanding this game, here's some things to get you started:
This is probably the most important, if you have over 6 soldiers/vehicles on the field at one time, the Germans will start shelling you with very deadly artillery and bombs, however, you can hire an engineer to let you build a "camo net" to get around this. Every soldier/vehicles under camo does not count towards being being bombed.
Your soldiers fire automatically at the closest enemy. Take advantage of this by putting your best soldiers behind weaker ones. As they get kills, they shoot faster and get more accurate.
Trees, rocks and palisades block line of sight, and soldiers cannot fire at what they can't see. Sandbags and trenches provide bullet protection, bunkers provide bullet protection and explosion immunity but make your soldiers fire slower.

In seriousness though, both defending could work. Regardless I think it'd be something fun to try sometime; Working out some kind of multiplayer. Again, not a necessity, but maybe after Recon is fully functional the developer could play around with it for a bit.

@zenius I always put a minefield in front of my bunker so burning soldiers don't run in there. Also, water kills burning soldiers so if you have a lake in a good spot it's great to put the bunker there

Uh, suggestion: Make tanks be able to designate targets. Their friendly fire is really annoying, and when a fast german comes running across your lines, you can't avoid the tank trying to kill your army.

Ugh... I have a tank, AA turret, half track with quad guns, 3 bazookas, a sniper, a jeep, 2 gunners, a medic, 2 soldiers, and an officer. Then... Arty strike wave! Wheeee!!!!!!
BOOM. I'm left with my officer.

The battle is almost over, I have lost too many soldiers. The last of them are now desperately trying to stay alive. I look to the left, my wounded sniper is laying right next to an unresponsive medic. The medic has lost moral and is retreating but is pinned. I of my spec ops nails my other spec ops with a grenade. War sucks, this game portrays that perfectly

@elmster's car comment: It should not shoot through bunkers. It couldn't even hit a single one of my 10 troops. Also, it's not overpowered if that's what you're thinking. A few good troops will kill its gunner soon as it gets on screen.

I think there should be a weapon option for Binoculars, it would allow your soldiers to locate the spies at a wider range.

I can't believe i got the 100 kills medal by just getting my 4 original dudes to the top of the screen, i only gave them the ranger thing xD those germans with their stuff aint got nothing on my 4 dudes

This game will always be the crown jewel of the Urb legacy, in my opinion.
Maybe I'm just biased after playing this game for several years, but imo, this is the best one.

Hearing the similar quote,"300 Americans will die here but 165 German tanks will go down as well" brightened up the moral of my troops and mine.

That awful moment when you use your hard earned TP for a camnet since you have 9 soldiers, then it gets blown up and, since everyone's exposed, the Germans call in planes and kill everyone after three airstrikes in a row.
