Step One: Play as Redosia and make a pact with Violetnam.
Step Two: Go after as many cities and simultaneously cut off Violetnam from gaining land (They won't dare go into your border yet. But still leave enough land so they can get to Greenland's army). Amass forces directly against Violet's border as close to their capital as possible
Step Three: Meet Greens/Blues and push East (One might be gone. That's just fine)
Step Four: When Violets break the pact (and they will) send all your border forces over and take their capital. FREE LAND!
Step Five: Push east and take more cities. Get your tanks out there.
Step Six: Take Green/Blue's capital. MORE FREE LAND!
Step Seven: Take the remaining capital and clean house.

Tip: Capture the most land you can get. So you spawn more units at your capital. Like I had half the map and every turn I got a tank at the capital. Then next Tip is to capture the most cities you can get so every turn your cities produce armies. Also try the map nothing. Delete all the numbers in the map bar and change the map. The whole map had no water, cities, ports, only land. Hope this helps :D

Hex Empire 1 was good, Hex empire 2 SUCKED, and the fact that hex empire 3 is 3-D (As is everything these days) I assume it'll suck too...

I love this game! Simple, yet addictive. Fantastic dark sense of humour running through everything, clean interface and easy mechanics.

After getting thoroughly spanked, up popped 336513. Red wins in 16 turns. Medium. Didn't even have to give a speech. Fewest number of turns I've ever experienced.

map 545896 was pretty good, all 4 empires meet in the middle and it forces u to be very careful who you ally with. even the towns are evenly placed for each empire so it's balanced.

3 kingdoms at once!? What did I do to deserve this! Dammit, call the tanks to the three fronts! What, the tanks only have 3 morale? They can get beaten by artillery fire easily!? Quickly, surrender so we can move to the next front and destroy them all in bloody revenge!

Map 110 Hard Bluegaria was interesting, almost a bit like trench or attrition warfare (66 turns without "specials"). Huge mess in the middle and middle bottom, five or six shipwrecks on land afterwards.

If there is one thing missing, I would have to say its being able to split your armies. But I would say taht it isn;t really nescesary, But Now that I think of it, It could be useful. Seeing how you can combine units.

there's a multiplayer available although it doesn't really have any players
It's called Hex Empire 2 and hex empire 3 is in the works although they have practically no money yet for it

Love this game. I like the music in the background. If you didn't notice it, it sounds peaceful but then you get eerie and dark undertones, kind of like a peace before a storm... Or in this case, a world war. Still a great game.

So I guess hard difficulty just makes all 3 enemies team up against you? That's what happened to me anyway.. But hey, I took one out before the other 2 smashed me.

I find the game just rude. "Too hard for you?" Yes, I'm already hitting surrender, you don't need to insult me when I'm trying to learn the F'ing game.

@feudalismrocks - I thought I was the only weird one to do that. It only took 128 turns to put all 99/99 on every accessible hex (except purples' capitol)

Greenland is the most difficult country to win with because you play as last and no one will accept your pact unless you outmaneuver Blue in cities and ports. If you can rush Blue within 5 turns then you're a genius. Otherwise, it's all about knowing when to Speech at the right time. Speech is very important for Green because that's when you REALLY start attacking. I've won several times using Green but more often than not I usually lose.

@jzagre
I've noticed that when I play as red, and only red will the other 3 color accept a pact, even if I offer it on the first turn. For the other 3 it seems to be a combination of how close we are to each other, how much we've fought and how badly the other person is losing or vice versa.
Those are just my observations though.

has anyone ever put a 99/99 (men/moral) on EVERY existing square except that occupied by the last free capital? (other than me. I was very bored.) ;)
