How to (maybe) win: pick red and watch all AI come after you
How to (surely) lose: don't pick red and watch all AI come after you

Shame HE3 turned out to be pay2play and basically civ5 with only combat and happiness. The dev's just haven't learned we want exactly this with bigger maps, smarter AI options, and map customization.

Certainly a 5-star game, a great strategy skill needed to win. Animations please. Larger maps. More people. More. More Hex Empire!

Hex Empire 3 hasn't been developed because nobody is funding it on Kickstarter. Help the man out and maybe we'll get a new one!

The trick to war in this game is not a front line defense or scattered approach but a single push by 1 or 2 divisions to the capitol whether they get cut off or not, Because if the capitol is token it won't matter anymore.

The AI is a bit goofy in that all 3 other countries immediately attack you rather than making a smarter choice and destroying an often closer and almost always weaker AI. I feel most of the time that it isn't a FFA but rather a 3v1...

Challenges: 653383 as Violetnam, 468213 as Bluegaria, 306953 as Violetnam or Bluegaria, 987257 as Redosia, 298302 as Bluegaria. Just in case you find the game too easy. Good luck. You WILL need it.

Ya know I really do love this game and I feel it would be better if the GOD DANG AI went for anyone and me but no all three thinks they have to go after me and ignore themselves to kill me its crap.

This is an amazing game, a rare one, it actually makes you want to come back to it. Part of the magic I think is that it is very intuitive and you can pick up the rules just by looking at it. Colors, armies, map, probably going to try killing off the other guys. I personally completely overlooked the help function and picked up most of the rules 3 games later (possibly why I didn't know until 2 years later that ports actually had a purpose beyond getting to water hexes). It's a game that you can understand easily yet can't win quite as quickly without skill. Which is also a good thing, this game require skill to be good at not money or grinding, which is distinctly rare in online gaming which is normally pay to win. A beginner can't strong arm their way to victory, they have to actually play and practice. Although I feel like this is a better game than it's sequels, it's a lot more simple, and more intuitive than the Hex Empire 3. And that's the charm of such a good game 5/5 :)

dislike the AI has to much of an advantage even if you are defending with 99 troops you may still be easily destroyed but will not rate the game

Sorry about the lack of periods in that, I put lines between them but kong does not allow that I guess. Also I forgot to say that they game itself is not out yet but will be out very soon (according to uunxx)

Hello everybody! The creator of this amazing game, uunxx, is working on the next Hex Empire game! It is called Hex Emprires: Grave Consequences. It has its own website and uunxx is there answering everyone's questions within a day. Here are some things that have already been established.
It will be much simpler than HE2 and a lot more like HE1 (no structure building)
There will be an optional multiplayer mode.
There will also be a single player mode
There are going to be 6 players per map
All positions not filled by real players will be filled by computers.
The computers will be smarter (no capitol abandonment)
There will be a new tile type: mountains, and they will act as natural walls.
THERE WILL BE A MAP EDITOR! So you can make awesome island maps, super hard maps, any kind of map you want.
Sign up at the website for free and show your support!!!
I really hope you all join and I will see you at HE:GC (I am DaRoyalHobo if you want to add me).

I've been playing this for years, one or two turns daily at least. Not once have I managed to suppress my urge to paint the whole map my colour and max each army to 99/99 before conquering that final capital city.
