Finally, at the zillionth attempt, 649877 is conquered on hard mode by the noble warriors of bluegaria! Feel the pain of defeat, oh underlings of greenland, redosia and violetnam. The strategy was quick occupation of the centre ground long enough to build up a navy to sail from Dallas, then retreat to the bluegarian peninsula while the navy, ravished by their leaders inspiring speech, quickly overran greenland. Then followed a desparate struggle to hold on while an invasion fleet was assembled to strike at violetnam's capital. With the invading armies in place, Violetnam quickly fell, and then Redosia were lambs to the slaughter. 32 rounds...

783516. Completely different conquest strategies for each country. Advantageous for Bluegaria and Violetnam as the attackers, and advantageous for Redosia, Violetnam, and Bluegaria as the defenders. Greenland gets it hard.

If you're playing as Bluegaria on map 254257, you should sign a pact with Violetnam. Conquer all the cities south of you before green gets there, and also take the cities west of you. Help Violetnam kick Redosia out of the mainland, and then send a few tanks to the Redosia capital, and also prepare some tanks to defend yourself from Violetnam. Once Redosia is conquered, Violetnam will attack you, but you can easily kick them out with about 7 tanks. The rest is simple.

Here's a good strategy: find a map where 1 of the kingdoms is on an island(make sure it has enough cities around it and make sure there isn't to less water) and choose the island kingdom, sign a pact between the kingdom closest to you(in the north), build up your troops while your safely tucked away in your island while the others fight. When you have enough troops, LET THE INVASION BEGIN

If you can win this map as Purple on hard you're a seriously good player.
As a side note, when I first played as Blue I managed to distract red enough that Purple actually managed to kill him, before I came down with a wave of 99 tank armies.

Journal Entry #209.
Despite frequent requests for the enemies surrender, and the ceasefire of 10 troops needlessly throwing themselves on the enemy without inflicting a single casualty, the leader of Violetnam has not given in, despite the incredible loss of morale among the troops.
With 21,681 troops stationed in all hexes not controlled by Violetnam, there lies an impassable boundary between Bluegaria and their eternal rivals. This is a war we SHALL win! http://i.imgur.com/PuuSoBc.png

@bullton The people of Violetnam, under my glorious rule, have indeed conquered all of the puny land that is 880204.
Actually, you simply have to rush east and sign a treaty with Greenland ASAP. Then, use the cluster of towns in the center of the map to push back west and defend your vulnerable capital against Redosia. Once you have pushed back their initial attacks, you should have enough troops to deal with them easily, so long as you remember to watch your other border and don't let yourself get backstabbed. After you crush Redosia, it's a walk in the park.

This reminds me a little of a really old game I used to play called Empire. (think it may have even been a DOS based program). This is a very simplified version, but still good in that it doesn't take as long to conquer the world.

I have an idea for you... After you conquer one of the four nations... start out with low loyalty and having to keep troops there. Then, they will gain more loyalty over time. This could also be for cities, etc.

It would be cool if you could build in things like oil and food. You could make it so that you use up oil and when you move your armies and use up food all the time. You could have different types of unit, as well - tanks could use up more oil and less food, and infantry units could use up more food and less fuel. You could have oil wells as map features to fight for, and the more land you occupy, the higher your fuel reserves.

This is a good game. It is easy to beat because the computer goes straight for the capital. I think the game should be able to have many units. The units for the enemy turn into ships sometimes. Make the game a little more challenging. Also, make the terrain play a factor possibly. Keep the basics of the idea of this game, but build on it. Don't leave the idea beause that's how many games mess up their part 2, etc.

Have been playing on hard for some time, but I still have to see an AI vs. AI battle... I'm feeling like I'm playing against just one AI... Normal is more fun, AI actually fight among themselves.

If you look at the texture in the background, you can see some gravestones, these gravestones indicate where previous battles have been fought at in non-city/town areas

Map 603271. Has anyone ever tried conquering that tiny island from an enemy and see if the enemy actually TRIES to take that island back?

945580. The choke point in the middle (Volgograd) is pretty important to win. It's easier to defend yourself and attack the countries on the other side if you control the choke point. Especially if you're playing Bluegaria/Greenland, with a few cities reachable in 1 turn.

Hm, nice concept and great gameplay, I would add unit types, and maybe rebels. Maybe they could expand upon it with buildings/tech. (4/5)

123456. A lot of cities for Violetnam to hop around. sign a pact with greenland, then get your tropps up top. attack redosia on all sides, they'll fall easily enough. mass your troops on the greenland border. Send some guys toward blugaria. then, once the fighting is done, then attack the loser's capital then hit the winner.

342756 as Bluegaria. On my first try, i signed a pact with Redosia, but they got conquered by Purple, resulting in a long, protracted war between me and purple which would never end. So, on my second try, i didn't sign a pact with Redosia, and although they still got conquered by Purple, their armies are weaker, so i prepared tanks on the north and south, and then stormed in. Although i got repelled in the north, and almost did in the south, i managed to get Purple's capital, and then i conquered Red.

31643. Very interesting. Kind of looked like an X. Redosia and Violetnam have a long choke area, perfect for defense. So if you're playing as one of those two, you can sign a pact with Bluegaria or Greenland, and then hold the line until they help you against the other country. Bluegaria has lots of cities in proximity, which will almost guarantee a success against Greenland, which have one choke point, but if you crush it with a tank, they're doomed. Greenland is not recommended for easy gameplay, because they will probably be crushed by Bluegaria within 10 turns. I played as Bluegaria, but it might be more interesting to play as Reds or Violets.
