Under rating threshold (show) Great game with super FX however it gets rather old as the only thing that seems to change is more enemys on the field and after awhile I went crosseyed tring to catch all the pickups and dodge the bullets. and again Kudos to everyone who worked on this the FX are some of the best I've seen on any game.

Under rating threshold (show) Good game, but has some flaws, the wasd movement is pretty useless as you end up crashing in all the bullets, mouse controlled is better, but still you cant dodge anything. Not my case but probably for other people the way the ship blurs the screen might lagg them, how about a low quality option for them? Also as i said dodge problem, ship is way too big for that madness, smaller ship upgrade? Or some health regen one

Under rating threshold (show) Not my cup of tea. I rarely get into these bullet hell games because I always run into the same problems - mistaking powerups for bullets and vise versa, so I either try to collect bullets or dodge pickups. Visibility in this one was worse than usual with all the smoke and blur effects. Very pretty, and I'm sure it was far from easy to program those effects, but they really did spoil things for me. In honour of the work that's very obviously gone into the game and in recognition of the fact that it's a genre I usually don't enjoy anyway, I'll leave the game unrated so as not to pull the score down from where it would otherwise be.

yeah visibility is an issue I'll need to address in future games of a similar kind....thanks for recognising that I did put a lot of work into this, even if it isn't your cup of tea.

Under rating threshold (show) Difficulty is a bit off IMHO. I'm not super-twitchy, but I'm not horrible either. I'm sitting on level 8 with maxed out upgrades and pretty much giving up in frustration on getting further.

Under rating threshold (show) two complaints: 1. whoever sent the pilot that letter (the description) has obviously never seen combat. these guys are f*cking tough. 2. it says you have 1 life left, yet its game over if you lose it.

Under rating threshold (show) Superb - 5/5. It would be nice if the upgrades went at least a level further: by the time you reach Lvl 10 you really are surviving on luck alone in many ways. I finish the game with about 1mil in the bank and it's useless. As one of the medals requires a x100 combo without losing a life, and you can only attain that combo at Lvl 10 +, you really need more firepower (or something) to assist you. But GREAT game. MFW I logged into Kongregate and saw this - YAY! :) Thank you.

I know what you mean about "surviving on luck" and it's not something I like either so I'll strive to avoid that in future - but thanks for the positive response, it really does make all the hard work seem worthwhile

Under rating threshold (show) Enjoying it greatly, my only concern is that you should have a grace period after losing a life, half a second to a second where you dont take damage so you can get yourself to a safer spot. As it is bad positioning can burn through your entire extra life stockpile faster than you can react.

yeah I would have liked more upgrades - in particular people have mentioned the need for an armor upgrade. The thing is I got kind fixated on the idea that you should be able to 'see' the effect of your upgrade purchases, so if I was gonna support armor upgrades I would've liked to design multiple ship sprites which I just didn't have time for....I'll definitely get it into a future sequel.

Under rating threshold (show) Retro top-down shooter with great graphics, intuitive gameplay, and autofire? Excellent! The "pixel-fox of space-war" that happens when the screen starts filling with dead baddies and their loot is actually a great part of the game and challenge. The only thing I want is more upgrades to buy! If I can repeat levels for money, then I want something to spend all that money on; perhaps various types of weapons that could be purchased and upgraded, and equipped to the 8 firing points on the ship.

Under rating threshold (show) Fun game, only complaint is that its a little too busy. Couple of suggestions that might help. Have the enemy fire on a layer in front of all the explosions/powerups etc, add a thin border of black around the outside of enemy fire so that they show up when overlayed over explosions/powerups, have the screen do a quick little flash affect when your getting hit.

Under rating threshold (show) I am amazed!! Its nearly perfect. Of course I still have minor suggestions, bloody spoiled perfectionist that I am ;-) 1.) Magnet could use more power, especially in the back of the ship. You barely have the opportunity to pick up anything from the enemys that come from the bottom. 2.) The Music is to awesome to drown them in the games sound fx. I would love to be able to lower/increase volume on sound FX and music with separate sliders. 3.) Visibility is always THEE challenge with shmups. Lowering the ammount of coins on the screen ("rich" enemies only dropping 1 high value collectible instead of 3 mid-value collectibles might be a good way) 4.) The repulser... I donno. Might just be personal taste, I might just be to stupid to active at the right moment... but I would prefer the repulser to have a meter that decreases while I hold the mouse button, instead of it being one shot thing. (hope you get what I mean)

those are all good suggestions - I know exactly what you mean about not having enough time/magnetism to grab stuff from enemies at the bottom of the screen. Also concerning the repulser: I did think about doing it exactly the way you describe it and I still think it might be better that way, the only reason I didn't was a kind of laziness - it would have required a tiny bit more work and I already felt like I had too much on my plate, so maybe next time....

Under rating threshold (show) It's quite a fun timekiller, however I think it would be nice if there was a recharge meter for the repulser. Also a few moar upgrades couldn't hurt, I've bought all of them and still have three levels to go.

50 levels - you're a man after my own heart - I would _really_ like to do a shooter with that many levels, but you now it took a lot out of me just doing 13, and I don't think I did all of them 'perfectly' as it is.

Under rating threshold (show) Really good game 4/5 I like the "realistic" graphic detail beacuse in actual combat your not gonna be able to see everything. I would like to see more varied weapons though like maybe after you fully upgrade your front gun you could turn it into a laser. Overall though very good job.

more guns is always good :) I thought about stuff like 'sidearm lasers' - little satellites hovering next to your ship which fire laser beams....I'd still like to try something like that in a future release...Apart from more gun-upgrades I also like the idea of some really powerful weaponry you can get as a temporary bonus (like a mega-photon beam or something....)

yeah someone else mentioned that idea - I didn't do full-screen 'cuz I thought it might lag too much, but thinking about it now I suppose it wouldn't have hurt to support it....previously kongregate didn't support fullscreen games (I mean it wouldn't have worked even if I added the code to do it) but I think they may have changed that now.

Under rating threshold (show) Really liked this game but i'd like to see 2 things: Magnet upgrade/tweak - On later levels a lot of enemies come from behind and unless you're at the bottom of the screen, you can't collect their bounty. So a range improvement would be nice (maybe add a couple upgrades?). 2nd thing: Dual bullet firing in the front - This would be nice because on later levels, even if you have everything upgrade, it takes a while to kill the bosses. Maybe you could have a second special on the C key that would double the number of bullets you fire on every direction?

stronger magnets is a really common request, so I'll have to look into that for the next version - it's easily done (I tested it for a long time sith super-strong magnets that sucked everything in really fast) - my only worry is to avoid making it look like the treasure is 'attacking' you when it's coming at you so fast. I really like the idea of dual bullets - definitely from the front and maybe from all directions. I also would like to add more specials, but I was thinking of temporary bonus weapons like a super powerful beam weapon which you only get for a short period of time.
