Don't combine a Mysterious armor of Death (+100% hit chance, +90% crit chance, +0-1000 damage, no dodge or armor, -80% health) with oil or greek fire. Yes, it will do massive damage. But it will also kill your own units :D

the rng for this game's battle encounter system is horrible. You take 1 step and get forced into a battle, take another step and get forced into another battle. The game really needs some "repellent".

Reckon to win this game easy? Be a ninja. Yes, I'm serious, be a ninja. Conquer all the land on the Far East. Level up and try to increase your Dex first every time you level up and max your Far East Weapon stats. Conquer the villages first. Do quests to earn money to buy new weapons. Here's a secret: Shurikens are OP. Insanely if I have to express it in such ways. Sell your loot but check the loot first. Some of the loot items posses special abilities. The best of them all is the 'Crushing' perk, which increases your damage by 100-300. That is a lot! When you have enough Dexterity points, go to Echigo. It has the best weapons and army for ninjas in-game. And when comes to army, Intelligence points comes into play. More points to Intelligence will give you more max points for Art of War and Patriotism. Max these perks also. I guess that is all that you need to know to win the game, other things that I missed, well, you need to experience it yourself.

update: beat Endem (saw the name and had to target it last) with 666 remaining light scrolls in my inventory (didn't use any items on Endem raid after all), 210% hit chance and 230% crit chance, 200 dex and int, 100 crossbow and knife, a Mysterious Knife of Death equipped with an Elite Crossbow, a Breaking Samurai mask, and a plain Black Samurai armor. 221 HP, 0 Dodge 0 Defense (without mysterious. . .of death equipped it would be 91% dodge fyi), damage of 60-1160, and as I said 210 hit 230 crit.
Difficult curve not present in game. All problems can be solved by tossing more and better units at them.

my army is now about 40 units large, maybe bigger, all max tier Empire units (except for two max tier Eastern units), I have conquered the entire Empire and all of the Eastern strongholds except Nagoya, seriously I could probably just throw money at all my problems at this point. I got .18M gold anyways. It's literally impossible to use up all of that without wasting more time than it would take to win the game.

Word of advice: the scrolls include the player as a friendly unit. They're more useful than medium potions once the player has >900 hp, and more cost effective so long as they have >150.

i found an enchantment on an ax that increased the damage to 0-1000. I just went around finding bandits. eventually, i did more than 500 damage and got the badge. im not sure if the enchantmentithat i found on the ax is hard to find but i got it in a little bit more than ~30 minutes of playing

to get the medium badge just try to find a weapon that has a lot of crit chance and has a high base damage. you should get something like that in a capitol battle

I love the game's loot system: Whatever the enemy dies with,you get. I wish more games were like that, and that you could equip certain weps to certain customized soldiers.

Sooo I became a ruler of all the world after finding an immortal armor piece and with an army of black samurais and shadow archers I've taken over the globe...
...Either patriotism and intelligence are overpowered, or maybe feudal japan just has the best darn forces in the game XD

I think the game became broken, I found a crossbow of death, then equipped it, I didn't even enter battle with it and it gave me the medium badge. I'm not complaining though. :>

Medium Badge Hunters, pay attention! This just happened for me.
I dealt 320 damage but my badge still said 280, I realized soon that that was the max damage my weapon can do. Later, I equipped an armor piece that increased my max damage by 1000, I got the badge without inflicting damage. Keep an eye out for uncommon equips that boost damage, you may not like them, but you won't have to keep them on, just momentarily for badge to take it into account.

for the ones having trouble getting the 500 damage badge, get as many heavy units you can, then find and equip a ranged item with the "death" enchantment. While your heavy units tear up the opposition while holding them at bay, get close enough to shoot a unit. The death enchantment adds 0-1000 damage to each hit, but lowers health big time, and flatlines your dodge chance, so you have to be careful. Good luck, I got the badge with a 753 damage crossbow shot using this. Please like to keep it alive.

Damage dealt isn't actually in battle; get one of the "death weapons" with 0-1000 possible damage, and you'll get the badge.
