Under rating threshold (show) So it's hangman...But more difficult because it has cleverly designed platformer levels, awesome nostalgia music, and to top it off it has physics? Genius. Purely genius. I love how you have to be careful which blocks you hit because you might not have any bombs...Great game.

Under rating threshold (show) @greenfuzzey - In those situations, you can use a bomb to blow up the block that's in the way. Was this unclear? Or had you simply used up all your bombs?

Under rating threshold (show) A few criticisms. 1: Being able to freely reset any level consequence free. The player needs some penalty for ultimate death - whether it's a score reduction or an amount of lives independent of the amount of guesses. 2: Button lag. This happens sometimes for me on flash games, but it was especially bad here. I'd press a button, it'd get "stuck" within the game, and I'd be forced to watch myself helplessly plummet off an edge. 3: If the block you spawn on is somehow removed, you will plummet into the abyss helplessly. My recommended remedy is a "frozen" player on spawn, affected by gravity only after the player moves first. This flaw didn't come up too often (and when it did, it was intentional), but it's things like this that make the game more professional and better.

Under rating threshold (show) Updates: 1) Three new levels. 2) Progress saving. 3) "Reset" and "Game Over" no longer cause you to lose guesses. I hope these updates make the game more enjoyable.

Under rating threshold (show) 1.) Controls need work. I don't know how many times I died because I couldn't step off one block onto a half-width block below it, and instead went hurtling past it down into the abyss. 2.) re: guysmiley's comment: I didn't find it a terrible oversight that different blocks behave differently based on the (random) word. At first I was like, "This is totally bullshit," but then I modified my strategies to, for instance, leave certain blocks un-guessed at first, so I could still jump on them. It makes every playthrough of a level a little different, which is way more variety than you find in most games. I ended up really liking this facet. 3.) A map would be nice, perhaps accessed by the M key. Even if you want players to have to explore the levels themselves, you could implement a map of the places they've already been, hopefully including the current placement of blocks. 4.) Seriously, change the directional controls so you can make small steps/jumps. That was bullcrap.

Under rating threshold (show) All in all, I really liked the game. The learning curve hit the sweet spot for me, even on the second and third playthrough, because the levels change depending on what word they have and when you guess what letters. I actually found it played kind of like nethack, where you can plow ahead guessing letters willy-nilly, in which case you will die more often or back yourself into a corner; or you can carefully consider each move and its effects on your environment, playing more slowly and more successfully. This game supports either approach (although obviously favoring carefulness in the later levels, which are pretty much impossible without it), and that's great. I'm gonna be playing this game a lot.

Under rating threshold (show) Another note - music is freat, but a "mute" function would be nice. Also, the "footsteps" sound effect is annoying, and just sounds like the popping of a malfunctioning speaker. Finally, the random distribution of puzzles means that, in some levels, the letter block's different behaviour (dropping vs. staying in place) actually makes certain levels impossible. This seems like a pretty serious oversight - having to reset a level until you get a word puzzle that actually enables you to complete the level seems pretty amateurish for such an otherwise excellent game.

Under rating threshold (show) Great, innovative game, bringing together unique elements from two genres for a whole new experience. One note - the challenging nature of the jumps is great, but the controls seem to be really glitchy, with frequent moments of shuddering ending with your guy in pretty random places. Same deal with pushing boxes - every now and then they just explode everywhere, scattering to the four winds - and never, predictably, when you'd want them to. If you're going to demand such precision from the player, you'd better deliver a control scheme that does the same, or it's just really frustrating. Other than that, awesome.

Under rating threshold (show) Its a surprisingly good game for a unity game, but it couldve been made as 2D as well. And there's a lot better 2D flash games out there than this, but at least the idea is fresh. I would rate it a 3.5 if that was possible but as it isn't I'll just refrain from rating. And its not necessarily any more difficult for foreigners than english people, decent knowledge in english will be enough to help you guess what letters could, in the regular english grammar, fit where. Here in Finland the words have noticeably more vowels than consonants in them and a working way to start is to first take down vowels in the alphabetical order till there seem to be enough of them, but that works decently here as well.
