Most people know full well of Midas' myth – the man who turns anything he touches to gold. But what some may not know is that a variation of this myth was that he even turned his daughter into gold.
In Level 8, Midas mentioned that he is a prisoner to Pactolus. This is the river that the Greek God Dinoysus told Midas to wash in so that it would wash away his power of the golden touch. This, of course, is the water that you touch on every stage.
That is what the credits mean to me – that Midas simply can not undo the damage which he has done. Even if he had the ability to jump that gap (which he does not), he can never get his daughter back ever again. -reposted

the ludum dare 22 is the same one Notch entered when he made Minecraft little brother, Minicraft, and in the description it tells that this was made for the Ludum dare 22 :P

I want to beat the credits... maybe if i try over and over again... or maybe I could just keep falling into the pit of nothingness that puts me back where i was.

my first time to rate 5-stars on mini-games which only have a "ding" sound for completing a level.
It is a great example to demo incredible gameplay!!
You don't need ultimate graphics and sound effects.
You only need a simple objective, simple control, bug-free and fun concept!! (5/5)

The concept is awesome. You took a real story and turned the key element into a gameplay feature. The puzzles are simple, clever, and enjoyable. The artwork is smooth and very fitting. Very nice work guys!

Replay the level with 'r' works fine for me (Chrome). Great game, only needs some awesome music to accompany it all :)

4 not 5 because while i loved how simple and fun it was i couldnt restart the lvl without reloading the page, "r" didnt work

On level 14 you can drop a gold brick on top of the lady (avoiding the water, and avoiding touching her) and she doesn't die.

its so sad, I would give anything, any amount of gold or money for the one i love, treasure the one who you love for they might not be there for you later in life.

@Rifelman
It all depends on what version you hear. One I've heard is that Midas pissed off Apollo (Greek God, also is the Golden God) and Apollo decided to grant him one wish, which was to turn everything he touches into gold. After turning many things into gold Midas eventually touches his daughter and she turns to gold. Midas prays to Apollo to change everything back and that he will never dishonor the gods again (Or something like that). Apollo then turns everything back to the way it was, happy ending

^^ Midas did a favour to Dionysus. He asked for the golden touch in return. He could not eat etc, and generally he didn't like it. He washed his hands in a river to forfeit the "gift"

Just in case anyone cares, im pretty sure the original story was the greedy king asked a sorceror or alchemist to make everything he touched to become gold, but when he touched his daughter, she became a lifeless gold statue. The cure was a cleansing water, which stopped him from turning everything he touched into gold and changing back everything which he touched when enchanted.

Good game not familiar with the girl only recall how Midas was apparently very stupid and forced to bath in the river to be rid of the power.

Great game, great concept. This is a real treat, even if you stink at puzzlers like me. Learned about Pactolus; I never knew. Thanks for encouraging me to brush up on my Midas lore.
