Spieltz this isn't historically accurate so in no way does that mean they have better aircraft then the nations in this game

Originally posted by Stridjer(all credits go to him for the following post, just keeping it alive for me and anyone else that has trouble on 1945):
"Guys, I just completed 1945 for the second time ( and I'm Marshal now :D) and I will tell you this. Take down the spotters by slowly approaching them in the flank and sniping them down. After this, get all your planes behind the behemoth WITHOUT GETTING IN PROXIMITY. Now fly to it, still in the back, but DON'T GET TOO CLOSE. You have to be close enough to shoot though. It's better to go slowly then rush, since rushing might just cause your planes to die. When you have approached and shot, do the 180 turn move. Your planes should be now still at full health, and facing away the behemoth. Now fly away, but not too far, and do the 180 turn move again. Repeat this till the zeppelin goes down."

I hope he (or whoever made the game) makes a sequel (which i think there is) that has...wait for it..
MULTIPLE PLANES!!!
Im a bit tired of only being able too use one plane while the enemy has 5+ planes. Mabey also choosing which plane each plane is on multi-plane missions.

would be awesome if the game would safe the last option for a plane and put it as default for the next turn. would make flying large cyrcles alot easier

Actually, it's that the music was not part of the game, and was hosted separately. The music went down, and for a while, there was no music, now there's this music. And I must agree, the old music actually fit, this, not so much.

also they must have implemented some sort of controll chip since every other site with this game also now has the crap music.

there used to be good music in this game. especially the music of the last level and a few others. makes u really feel like ur flying a fighter biplane shooting down ppl. the new music is crap!!

This is a great fun game. I heard of a very similar game like this but as a multiplayer on kongregate. Its called Fly or Die. Here is the URL:http://www.kongregate.com/games/Niallith/fly-or-die-multiplayer/

This game totally needs multiplayer and larger variety of planes and abilities you can use! Also, it would be great if missions were more interesting than just "kill `em all"!
Excellent game, waiting for a sequel! :3

Loaded fine for me once, but now I simply get a blank screen with "100%" down the bottom. Sometimes, after refreshing, it shows the SteamBirds logo and says "Changing History" as well.

I remeber a game from like 5+ years back that was like this.... the graphic on it was... errr... let's call it "basic" It was set in space I think. The battle mechanics are more or less the same, except the ships uses different types of missle instead of gun(missle might get disabled if ship get hit) Anyone knows that game? Please PM me the name if u do... i really wanna see it again after playing this....

One of the finest tactical games i've ever played. Great, fitting music, accurate physics, and good aero knowledge. Keep up the good work!

Hmm. Well, so much for fomatting comments... Another design issue is that when the units are all bunched up, it becomes hard to select their icons and to see status. Maybe a separate bar with unit status and select to make it easier? I guess window real estate is an issue...

I like this game a lot, but I see a couple of design flaws:
- The player should easily be able to tell when approaching the deadly map edges - maybe show an interior "soft" boundary based on turning radius. I get that there has to be a limit, but not that the pilot would be blind to it.
- At the end of an engagement, planes just fly straight ahead for a bit, possibly taking damage from poison gas (I think). This when they could easily have avoided damage by turning. Either freeze the board or allow a final maneuver round.
