This reminds me of a game from the early 90's that was shareware which I was very fond of. Nice to see the concept reused here.

@ rokemon101: if you touch the green gas, even for a tiny amount of time, it'll still damage your plane slightly. you can tell if your plane has been hit by gas by seeing if your plane's guns are jammed or not. I had that problem too, thinking that I had beat the level untouched.

When I've finished a level and i've din't had been hurt it's give me only 3stars even if its say 4stars,that badge is impossible to get

Is there any way to store the game progress in the user profile? Every time I've cleaned temporary files from my PC the state of my progress in this game is lost, which is more than annoying and quite amateur programming.
Please change the save system so it doesn't store the savestate locally. Thanks.

Another strategy for the flying wings is to cut in front of them, staying JUST out of range with a plane that can drop poison clouds. They take massive, massive damage from the clouds (due to it not being affected by armor, is my guess)

I wonder how RAF defeated Luftwaffe until 1950 using an airplane from 1907. :P Anyway, a pro-tip that will make missions much easier: each enemy has a fixed target (and will only change target when 1st one is dead). Identify which of your planes are targets and use them to attract enemies to a position where you can flank with other planes and take them down.

dingo has a point, it would be better if 1. there was unlimited map space 2. if you flew through one side, you would come back through the side opposite to the one you just flew into

I ridiculously love this game ^^. Played and finished it twice, yet I am a bit dissapointed about one thing. You never get different kinds of planes, yet have to fight aganst a dozen of different ones and each of your planes corresponds in the triple number of enemies, plus, when fighting against 2 or 3 enemy teams, the enemies never fight witheach other, The only thing that changes is the colour :( . Yet these are not gonna prevent me from rating 5/5 ^^

Great Game. A suggestion: It'll be even cooler if you could watch a replay of your dogfights in real time.

Killing a behemoth with 180's.... slow, tedious, and irritating. Killing a behemoth and needing to fly circles to turn around (like the last level)... you know what general they tried so hard, let's just let them win already. Or you shoot the damn thing down.

Lovely game. 5/5 Bummer that I went off the map in the last level and lost. I had no way to redirect my plane, the arc of the movement had the movement selector off screen.

Really fun game, and yes, the 1948 badge is not difficult. It is definitely a 'Hard' badge, but not as nearly as hard as some of the other ones here. 5/5!

A great game. I would really like to see this were as you get more stars and gain ranks you unlock new plane/weapons and can try and find your own strategy to the levels. But this was meant to be a more accurate game so all good. also I had that same problem once were I was not paying attention to the edge and could no longer turn my planes cause the targetter went off the screen. Keep up the good work.

I also finished 1948 without any damage, and only received three stars for some reason. Bummer that I didn't get the badge-of-the-day. One of my true favorite games on Kongregate though. I love the style graphics, game play, mechanisms... all great!

1948 tips. Do as Xenon said - fly the gas plane in a straight line, letting the other plane weave in an S fashion IN FRONT OF THE GAS. Your planes WILL get damaged if you stay in the gas. Once the 3 faster planes are dead, make a large u-turn (don't worry, the fat plane won't be near) and split up, one going to the top, one to the bottom. Wait and see which one the flying wing follows, and use that one as bait. The other plane is going to be your attacking plane. Just follow the Wing as it tries to follow your bait, and it should be dead in no time.

Wow. I did the 1948 mission taking no dmg... although i wasnt watching a plane and it drove off the map and i got penalized for that :*(

@ equinox666 - Saying that the game "sucks" without any explanation is really unfair towards the developers. They obviously put a great effort into this game and deserve constructive criticism. You are free to dislike it if it doesn't meet your taste, but give the people behind the game the chance to improve their work. Regarding me, I think this is one of the best games on Kongregate. Some levels are really challenging, but they all are accomplishable. Well done :)

I've rarely played a flashgame with an addictive music like that, in fact it's the only with Mardek RPG. REally good game btw. 5/5

damn bugs! i finished 1948 without any damage (and i didnt gas myself too) and i only got 1 star!
plus ruining the badge of the day -_-
