sorry chilese, too late. but i connected the middle island, build up energie production up to 10 and connected the totems...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@chilese, i got 1:20 on my second try, took like 3 more to get 1:19. felt like the very end could have been faster while i was floating over the last one but im happy with 1:19

@Criggie: the 'top rated player' hacked the score - nothing will happen when proper players reach 1999. The total number of possible missions since the game started is my score, +3 (I lost that many to a save wipe), +1 that was knocked off the list due to a date change before I saw it. When he/she has completed every level available, Kime1R will be the legitimate top player in missions completed (with, I think, one more than I can get).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
What happens at 1999 completed missions? I notice the top-rated player hasn't moved on and has been sitting there for a while.

Balbanes, I think someone sufficiently talented could create a great painting based on this game from the perspective of someone in Odin City viewing the battle. Alas, I am not that person.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@balbanes - check out creeper world 3. Its not quite what you describe, but its a lot more than this one. Personally, I'd try unity if they ever supported linux.

I am surprised I have never seen the upgrade token covering the rift tokens before. You can see which one it is if you look closely.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Note for 2017-01-25:
The third rift token is UNDER the orange deposit (the bonus marker) in the top center of the map.

I looked around a bit on the site and saw that there are games with the forum side by side with the comments just below the game. How about that? What's necessary for that to happen? I mean like this one:
http://www.kongregate.com/games/HyperHippoGames/adventure-capitalist

Thanks for your answer. Why would I post a link here to an answer somewhere else, when I can just answer the question here directly?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The forum you would start a thread in is here http://www.kongregate.com/forums/3-general-gaming Once you make a thread, you could copy/paste the link to the thread here, or the most recent post. For example, if someone asks a question in comments, and you answer it in the thread, you could post "I answered your question here" [link address] Could that work for you? The other idea I could think of, since some of you are in contact with the dev for the game, is to ask if they would be willing to put a link to the thread under "game news" in the game tab.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
chilese, that's a great point. If someone doesn't know that there is a forum topic for it, they will never find out. The comments are right here, everyone does see them. @USofDrumpf Sorry, you didn't care to think about the main point chilese made. Bookmarks are for pages you KNOW about. That doesn't help finding some page you don't know exists. If someone doesn't know about that page, they can't make a bookmark. Simple.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I notice for some games, there is a "forum" tab in addition to the comments tab. How is thank tab established? By the developer?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If only there was a way to save a page that you like, and that you want to get back to quickly... like one of this things that mark a place in a book, what are they called?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Sadly, the Forum is "somewhere else". Whereas the comment section is right below the game. Where is the General Gaming Forum and how many steps does it take to get there? What fraction of people will take the extra time to go there? Perhaps if there was a direct link to the "Creeper World Game Forum". There should probably be a Forum for each game if that is what they are aiming toward. Just my thoughts.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Now this is a great development. All right. I don't think I'm as active here as I should be if I would start that thread for [Creeper World Evermore] in the General Gaming forum, that JohannasGarden is talking about. I'm still working hard on a buisness and I plan to focus on that even more. That means less involvement on Kongregate. I think the most active of us is chilese and he also seems to have all the great personality traits that would be great to have for someone who starts a forum thread. What do you all think guys? We can post times and helpful comments there. Maybe some of you do have some ideas about micro management or some forum rules that might be important for this. What do you think? chilese?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Rain_King Then I'd be curious what about my comment with the function violated the terms of service. I think they do it by looking at the weather.
Hey there! You all do a whole lot of communicating through game comments. It does make the game page rather lively, but have you considered making one thread for [Creeper World Evermore] in our General Gaming forum? Our reporting tools for forum posts are easier for us to navigate, and I think you all might find the tools there, such as the ability to embed useful links, easier to get a response on.
If you all decide to go that route, I'd suggest that an active user start a thread with a clear title, something like [Creeper World Evermore] Discussion, questions, tips, etc. Then you can flag inappropriate posts with a description of why they are inappropriate, in cases where it might be less obvious to someone who knows little about the game.

In response to my email, Virgil at Knuckle Cracker has reported the issue to Kongregate as well. It may be that nothing will come of it but it doesn't hurt to try.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
According to "Emerson" from Kongregate support: "The comments to do not violate the terms of service, and so they're not deleted."
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
That's a great idea. I never thought of talking to knucklecracker about his trolling. I always just reported him to kongregate.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I have contacted Kongregate support to try to get MTargaryen banned. I have also emailed Knuckle Cracker support to see if they can work with Kongregate to solve the issue. Let's see if that does any good...

1/7 - 11:10 RFI on Balbanes' challenge. I know it's late, but you might use on other maps any tricks you see here: https://youtu.be/y2i8aL1Bhts?list=PLDuUTUjvbZY0hhByU81RfiIWmNmyifayp

@Balbanes We call that a bombing walk or bombing run what you described about the mortar. I described that here in detail: https://youtu.be/AWmjPfLIg7I?t=8m46s It may be a good idea to build the mortar asap if you can keep the creeper overflowing from a pool that way. I didn't do it on this challenge, because the pool is kind of small so you need that mortar too early and you can't inverst in massive energy production first. On a map like this with small pools it's okay to let the creeper overflow, ramp up energy production until the creeper hits the base, build as few as possible weapons to guard, build up more energy production and only then build a mortar, load with full ammo and send on bombing walkS (reload). If you send it to good targets (pools) it's really easy to frog leap your way with blasters though thin creeper. You just need one gate-keeper blaster left behind while you clean up on the ridge.

@carusoo: aha... a shorter flight time to a little closer starting position with an upgrade first makes worth it to build 9... interesting. learned something again. thx :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@NeilSenna: Yeah, this game is easy after you learn the basics. That's why we play for the best time or some other challenges :) Some user created maps on knucklecracker.com are unwinnable, even by some players there who can win maps where I have no idea how to win. Those guys definitely play many hours daily. I'm just an amateur in comparison :) But I created 3 tough maps, too knucklecracker.com/creeperworld/viewmaps.php?author=iMiZR1
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@carusoo 1/9 i can't come up with anything that good... 8 collectors are one too many to build in 1:30 and load the totems. even worse with 7 and a SAM. 6 and a SAM is too short to make the final connection... you're a genius.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Although... on the full version of the game there was a level editor, and I used to visit the game forum (before 2011, I think) where other players put up their own, user-created maps. Made Evermore look like training levels, and some of those might well have been 'unwinnable' (or at least, I couldn't do them).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Bozotic: As iMiPi said, there's never been an unwinnable map. I'm not one of the 'super players' who can do maps in mere seconds, but even I've been able to do every single one since the day the game was released. Which is kind of sad... more than five years :D
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Bozotic: never. all maps are winnable. the rest of this comment isn't to brag, but to let you see why you can trust my opinion. i play this since way before 2013. probably i played CW:E daily soon after it was first published on kongregate (autumn 2011). the badges to the game were published on aug.10th 2013 and i earned them that day based on my previous stats and because i played that day, too. i didn't play many other games since i found this one. even big games like starcraft or rise of nations just collect dust in some of my drawers. if i play, i play this. if you wanna see one of my tutorials for a difficult map check out the 3rd video on this playlist: http://tiny.cc/cw-tutorials-2016-08-24
