4/16 is a good level for the Rain King challenge (no drones, no reactors, no base movement). 25:57 but I wasn't really going for speed, just completion :)

I like the map today (4/16) a lot! :) gathering upgrades at start, tight unflooded spaces, spores... I built MANY drones today :)

Apparently if you take too long, the creep just kicks into overdrive, and wipes you out
Would've been nice to know that.

if you think about infinite mass production you'll end up in a thought experiment that involves black holes and serious issues with space-time under the influence of gravity. here's a great explanation about black holes: https://youtu.be/vNaEBbFbvcY

To Balbanes: yes, it could, but we need to know how much mass emitters produce every second (let's call it creep generation speed, v, mass per second). If we take the mass (M) of Jupiter-sized bunch of creep and divide it by creep generation speed, we'll get the time (t) required to make this much creep: t = M / v. It can be pretty much time.

@Benni_shadow: spore attacks are survivable as long as you have dense network with plenty of alternate paths and energy storage. Seems to me the game's inspiration was a tcp/ip network. The internet began as a military project -- a network that could survive and function despite loss of many components. Where’s my badge? :)

This map survived 3 spore attacks of 7 spores each.

@Benni_shadow: if you want that to be hard, you need to set one more rule: the position of totems on that map has to make it impossible to build quick enough to win the map before spores hit.

I have a challenge so hard you need to prepare to cry=)
challenge:In a spore map you cant use BLASTERS or SAMS MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH you cant do it =)
If you do do the S.P.O.R.E. challenge you get the badge...

21/3 - 1:44. RFI cos I used a low-tech blaster rather than the flying toys used by the experts :-) And I left it too late to post to hold today's record briefly - congrats RealOldman.

@andrew_ortega try drone overkill :) i mean build 4 or more drones. the creeper doesn't stand a chance. you'll almost feel sorry for it ;) you'll need good energy supply. but you can get going with just 1 drone, practice sending it to the best spots and then gradually build up to 4 or 5 and just obliterate the creeper :) send the drones where it's really deep, far from the base. then you don't even need mortars and really only a few blasters. you can get going with 2 after you built your first drone. build at least one storage and make sure you have enough energy all the time.

@Rain_King Thanks for the challenge :) That was fun! Tough start. But after I secured my position I went to greenout mode :) I didn't brake your rules, but capped all emitters and filled the map with collectors. That's what I do mostly just for fun. So... lots of RFI at 40:29

@andrew_ortega: sure it's possible. Why move Odin city at all? You can expand up to the nearest 3 high grounds and then hold the creeper pushing it back. I'm no pro and it took me a dozen minutes at 1st try. I'm sure it could be done much faster by others, I don't care about record times.

3/17 - 44:18 Rain King challenge - no base movement, drones, or reactors. Lots of RFI. Very tricky start! http://imgur.com/a/gTZ1Y

I find it very interesting that, with my most used strategies, my "Creeper Killed" graph almost always resembles a damped sine wave.

@chilese It's also possible that MT decided to reduce the number of comments so he could continue to harass the community without it being as obvious to the site admins.
