Under rating threshold (show) Nearing the end of a mission, I look at the way I have networked my collectors across the map, and how I have inched my way from one edge to the other, covering everything in my wake, destroying the creeper in my way, and I realise, the creeper and I, we aren't so different

Indeed.... This observation/philosophy is an underlying theme in Creeper world 3. Which 3 is now out! knucklecracker.com/creeperworld3/cw3.php

Under rating threshold (show) I enjoy playing strategy games and such. I dislike tower defense games, because the enemy is on a controlled path, but games like this are amazing. It feels so simple, but you just can't stop playing. Even when you're losing, you just want to fight again. It's a simple game, but amazingly addicting. I have no words to describe how happy I am that this game exists, I wish I could rate higher than 5/5.

Under rating threshold (show) Don't know what parameters are currently variable, but since a new map is generated daily, it would be neat if they occasionally had an extra emitter or two, or slightly higher growth rate. A bit of an occasional challenge for the regulars.

Under rating threshold (show) It is only natural that people like different anything: games, colors, movies, TV shows, etc. There is nothing wrong about not liking a game. Some of the niceties this game has are: A new game every day, there are several solutions to any puzzle, and the game can be played with different self-imposed restrictions to make it more difficult. The SURVIVAL mode will kick in automatically after 1 hour of gameclock time. Have you played any of the other, earlier versions of this game? In all honesty, I did not like this game the first time I played it either. But as I grew to understand it more by playing through all the versions, it became fascinating. I hope you find another game you enjoy more. And it was kind of you to play it a few times to give it a chance.

Under rating threshold (show) @Kazan_Epic The OC can't send out any more than 32 packets per second - deficit is the number of packets that have been requested that have not yet been sent. Any energy collection above +32 does essentially nothing (apparently the last time I said this it was down-rated, but down-rating it will not change the game mechanics).

Under rating threshold (show) Just for reference, you base cannot send more then 32 packets worth of energy at a time. If you are producing more and trying to use more, you'll have surplus AND deficit.

Under rating threshold (show) @ gidder - This map is indeed challenging, compliments to the creator! Here was my strategy for 5th January 2013: Fly the base to the nearest left plateau, get the upgrade (+20% building speed), build some Collectors along the upper rim and a Mortar to bomb the left pit. That buys you some time. Build a Blaster to keep the Creeper from Base, increase energy, build SAMs. After the first aerial attack, fight back Creeper in the pits with an airlifted Mortar or a Drone. Once the Mesa is clear, you can easily keep the creeper low with Mortars.

Under rating threshold (show) @aronbon: The credit for ridiculously fast time goes to the few. So far iMiPi (no longer playing), hawk45 and a few others have been gracious enough to post both their times and screenshots. Many times I don't even realize that a killer time can be had until I see an extremely fast time. HINT: Usually these very fast times involve dropping Odin City into the creeper for the final connection to the last totem. Odin City can take a huge amount of damage and still be used to complete the level. For today's challenge, Odin City was hovering back and forth between a collector and the uppermost totem. You must use the Pause button to effectively use this method. While some argue that this is an abuse of the game, I prefer to think of it as merely one variation (fastest time), just like many like to cap all 5 wells. The beauty of this game is that it can be played i many different ways. They are all valid. But at 64 years old, I am happy to take any compliment you youngsters might offer. :-)

Under rating threshold (show) 1. Hit Pause right at the start and study the terrain. Use Pause often during the game. 2. Move Odin City to a different location at the beginning. Look for higher ground, closer to the totems, but not too near the emitters. 3. At the start, click the green button on Odin City. This turns off totems packets. Turn it back on just before you connect all the totems! 4. Be careful with energy management and don't build weapons sooner than you'll need them. Build collectors before building reactors. Collectors are more efficient than reactors. 5 . The longer the interval for spores, the more spores there will be. They will always arrive from behind where the emitters are located. 6. Upgrades: Choose carefully. Some upgrades will use energy. If you don’t have energy, choose other upgrades. 10% more energy when you have 2 energy is less than 10% off building cost.

Under rating threshold (show) Here is a way to beat Sep18: right at the start build a blaster next to odin city and nothing else. When it's finished hit pause and fly it to the top of the highest hill as close to the emitter as possible. Odin city itself follows right away. (They should arrive at the same time.) You do take some damage but it kills the emitter fast enough and you have a safe position on the highest spot of the map. Sound crazy but works.

Under rating threshold (show) @inyourface45 has got it right. Get to high ground (should be relatively small and far from the creep), put down collectors, and then mortars to cover cliff edges. Then reactor away as you do creep control on all sides. Once out of deficit, add storage and speed. Build mortars on ridges to cut paths off. Drone the deep pools of creep, and rush in with blasters. Disarm every weapon off the frontline, and shift Odin forward to speed things up.

Under rating threshold (show) An important tip for hard maps such as August 10: Defend choke points! If you let the creeper get to open ground, your lasers will be less efficient. On the Aug. 10 Map, the crepper will flow down three valleys: North-West, Center and South. You need to rush blasters to all three valleys. If the creeper gets past those choke points, it will slowly envelop you.
