I'm really hating the last level. That white out glare is painful on the eyes after a while. It's ridiculously unbalanced, unless you get a huge slice of luck. It's also impossible to tell whether your secondary weapon is available or not.
the white out glare is the result of NUKE explosion. The last level is easy if you know how to take that bastard down. Just a tiny amount of luck is needed. Buy "malicious parachute" weapon to take him down and "emergency parachute" so you have 30% chance to save your life after he kills you.

really good, but planes aren't effected when struck by lightning in reality, i've been in both a small plane and a large jet when struck by lightning, it doesn't affect flight, it's just freaky
Hi there, thanks for the physics explanation. I know that if something is not grounded, it is not affected by a current. However, this is game, not reality, just have fun of it, that's all :)

I had my enemy with only one life for four times, all of those he escaped using a parachute and got time to destroy my balloons.
The real beauty of this game is, that just shooting is not enough. You have to think even about good configuration or weapon build. If you have trouble with such enemies that have emergency parachute, use your wisdom instread of brute firepower. If you buy malicious parachute (cheap) or EMP (more expensive) and make him crash, he cannot escape death :) Try this and nothing will stop you! :D

I think this game has a nice concept as to the shop and varieties of planes it has. This game isn't very challenging although i like the stall feature. overall i would give this a 4/5

Love this game two things i see though; 1) if your seeker rocket goes of the screen, the u lose it, 2) this game really needs achievements, also, could you make another sequal?

Wideanglegames can you add a "endless" or "survival" mode? When you kill the Red Baron you can't continue and i have it with all upgrades....

I would say to use "Shot Accuracy" instead of "Shoot Accuracy" in the stat chart after a mission..but it is a very cool game none the less.

very fun and great game game good job! one bug, after lvl 10 or something like that in balloon def mode, ennemies no more take off, i kill them on the floor and they stay destroyed without respawning.

One thing I'd really like to see is more performance optimization. I have a bad computer, I can't play this, but I can play some of the more fancy flash games without trouble.
Hi, the main problem is that the game runs on Actionscript2 which is slower then AS3. The only think I can recommend you is to toggle the graphics quality to a suitable level (top right corner button - toggle to LOW value)

loved it just two issues though. 1: if you emp a plane it only counts as a kill if they are under the status effect even though they come out of it micro seconds from the ground. 2: i have activated emp and killed my opponent after my "pilot" is dead. how does that work? 5/5 anyway.
1)When you cause stall (malicious parachute, emp, acoustic rifle) to enemy plane and it recovers 1 microsecond before touching the ground, you unluckily don't get kill. This is hard to determine when to add kill to stats or not. So I decided to trigger it only when enemy touches the ground stalled. 2) it's a bug not a it's a feature. If you get criticaly hit, you can still fire weapons no matter if "pilot hit" message appears or not :) A big thanks for voting!

The only thing that bugs me about this game is the way kills are counted. Gun kills are the only ones that seem guaranteed to count. You could hit an enemy with a nuke, shockwave, EMP, and parachute all at the same time and have him nosedive straight into the ground and get zero points for it.
Hi, you stil get the points when you EMP or parachute enemy, however his engine has to be stalled. Once the enemy manages to recover from stall, indicated by "restarted" flying text, you don't get any kill points. So the vise idea is to stall someone's engine at low altitude,so he has no time to recover from it.

I tried "Altitude," and it´s game play is too unrealistic.. You forget they are planes after a while since gravity makes very little effect... and their weapons are too sci-fy. I like it that you could easily Stall in this game.. I´d hope that in the next versions you would increase the ceiling height at least 3x, and reduce the turn rates, and increase gravity a little bit. As is, climbing advantage doesn´t really mean that much vs. speed.
I really hope this game goes Multiplayer some day... it has great potential.
Altitude is not about simulation it is pure simplified model that everybody can play and has fun of it. If I do your recomendations in the game sequel I definitely bury the player audience spread since many casual players will be unable to play. However I can make 2 modes - 1 easy for casual players and 1 hard with all the physics for pro players :) I hope someday I create multiplayer version, but it is too time consuming.

Great game. 5/5 , because there is not bettergame of this type. But the multiplayer is horrible and mayby there should be a survival mod. Despite these problems grat game.

I don't believe in using walkthroughs unless as a last resort. Needless to say the Red Baron is ridiculously difficult. You can barely get off the ground and you're nuked. He has access to weapons that you have to beat the campaign in order for you yourself to use. I like the game, great idea, challenging, fun! Just wish that the Red Baron wasn't quite so invincible :(

1/5 - with mouse you can't control the turn of aircraft. Gun shots are way too slow. almost impossible to kill an enemy if you are not in close combat, also shots pierce through enemy aircraft when they are fired from wide range. in short: another great game that sucks because of the lack of programming. please make it better, thx
Hi there! thank you for your feedback. However I cannot agree with you. Yes, this is not a game for casual players, not all players get used to controls (do you know that you can switch to keyboard in main menu?). The game requires some skills to learn, If you do not know which, try to watch walktrough video on youtube. Slow shots? Trust me, they are ok, I gave it to play to my wife , she is not even a casual player and she was able to get some kills! If you cannot kill anyone, think about words that Wayne Gretzky said: "Every player is where is the puck, I'm always there where the puck will be". The secret of the aiming is in good estimation of the enemy´s position, you should shoot in front of his movement direction, not at him! Targetting system upgrade should help. Don't give up so soon and the game will show you the real beauty and fun. good luck!
Hi, Balloon defence is something like sandox or endless mode, you play until you are able to defend balloons :) Or do you mean something else? If yes, tell me the details, because I'd like to add a new game mode soon.
Hi, that was my former intention, to make a multiplayer airplane game. However I implemented the game in actionscript2 and old flash technology and it does not allowed me to make such mutiplayer games without struggling with network lags. So only hotseat multiplayer has left. You can play the game with your friends on one computer, just hit Play->Multiplayer. Maybe the sequel of the game will be pure online multiplayer ;) Or download concurent product. I personally love "www.altitudegame.com"

Storm clouds and birds are ridiculously overpowered (example #2312 of sentences I never imagined typing), mostly due to their size and prevalence. The enemies guns seem unduly strong as well, usually destroying part of my plane after two or three hits, even with several armor upgrades (whereas I need many, many hits to down them, again with upgrades).
The only thing you need is a practice. This game is not easy to play at first time, you need to develop some skills and be patient. And sadly, that is the reason the game gets low rating from some players. If you are patient and practice, I guarantee you you will have fun!

me again^^ still playing this wonderfull game and i get the advanced weapon rack bug. i started with 2 prim and sec weapon slot, i bought extra slot then adv weapon rack and i still have 2 weapon slot. and when i sell it, it downgrade my plane to 1 prim and sec slot. wish it will help you dev. love this game^^

This is a fun game. Difficulty seems just high enough to irritate, but not high enough to get me to quit. I must have gotten lucky with Richthofen -- I got him to crash into the zep. Now off to try the Defense...

Please,pleasepleaseplease, add an arena mode, just like bloon def but without bloons. I want to shoot stuff, not protect bloons from planes inside em.(maybe make bloons ignore fire from friedlies? annoying to get a plane out ot it) Got to lvl 18 in def so far, maxed out, any more challenge there? Anyway, 5/5 since a dev actually watches over his fun game.
Hi, thanks for a good idea. I think that this wouldn't be a problem to make it, if you have more detailed concept of the game mode in the head, please let me know. Now, if you want to shoot everything, go to Multiplayer, and set the planes as you need and play. In Multiplayer/Custom mode you can shoot everything you like :)
