This game shows a lot of promise. The story and setting are intriguing, but the power slide mini game you have to go through before *every* attack ruins it completely for me. In an RPG I want to build my characters and enjoy the story, not test my reflexes! Also, even the tiniest bits of lag on my computer causes me to hit for minimum damage.

5/5 .... I really like the story. It reminds me of another game - Color My ... Heart/etc. series. I never thought words can have colors or days of week for that matter!
However, I don't like the "blblblblbl" sounds at the start of battle. You can get used to it, bit it's soo irritaiting.
The music. Reminds me of old console games and I thought what the, it's bad choice, but after half of the game ... I thought there couldn't be any other, this one is perfect :).
I did enjoy time spend playing this game. Oh, and it really resembles Sailor Moon: Another Story.

lol reminds me of earthbound for supernintendo the graphics are the same in some spots the house is almost exactly the same except in a modern sense

a whole bunch of bull shit at the end of the game. I mean seriously. if you save in the area with the guitar then you're trapped forever and if you didn't buy ass tons of items or power train like hell then you're pretty much screwed and can never beat the game on that file

It seems like an excellent game with a nice spin on traditional fantasy. As said before a bit of polish is necessary before this reaches its potential. I really like this sadly underrated game.

Amazing game. still I think if you added some simple things you would get a higher rating, 5/5 because it is a at least a 4 star game

What a great game! Some of the fights get a little repetitive but I'm giving it 5/5 for scope and inventiveness. And because it seriously deserves a much higher rating!

Hmmm... I really don't understand why this game has such a low average rating. The storyline is pretty good, the music is nice, although a bit repeatative, and the combat system is better than many other flash games I've played. I see a lot of comments about the enemies being overpowering, but I think challenging is more fitting. With the right formation and a bit of patience, you can pretty much beat everything without too much effort, as long as you don't rush. I'll give it a (for me) rare 5/5. With more skills and a bit of polishing, the second game will be awesome, which I'll look forward to. Definitely one of the better flash games I've played.

I cant load my saves it acts like iv never played before. Is saving glitched or is it not yet implemented/working? Still 5/5

guys i know alot of you cant get past the gate so go to the SIDE of kyle's house then press c then you got past the gate(pick up kyle's bat!)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
hmmm... nope. I keep going to Kyle's house. Have been there about 15 times since I killed the stop sign. Nothing happens when I go to Kyle's house

Amazing. The enemies seem to go out of balance (too strong) near the end, but I might just need to grind more.
Most of the complaints seem to be from people who've never played old SNES RPGs, which this seems to be an homage to.
Add more skills and hidden things AND ADD MORE MUSIC, and I would be extremely pleased with this.
5/5, because this surpasses my expectations for a Flash RPG.

To everyone complaining about the disappearing 'Vendor!' enemy, he's still there, just invisible. Go to talk to where he was

i'm a something year old boy and girl with a shovel and a rusty bat.... fighting a talking stop sign.... where does this not seem wierd?

Ok wtf. This is irratating. I saved outside of kyle's house after learning the song thingy so I only have Kyle. I keep beating that stupid stop sign, going through that dam maze, and I save atleast 20 times and I always load game back there after i exit. what the hell is this? I can't get any farther than f'ing lvl 13 characters, when i have to restart as a level 3 every time.

Great game. Minor bug - after lossing to the vendor boss and continuing from the save he was nowhere to be found. Refreshing the game fixes it.

Great RPG. larger than a lot of the rest on Kongregate, which is nice. I love the cheesy do-it-yourself sound effect at the beginning of battles. Just a few things though: some of the bosses are quite difficult. Especially, say, the vending machine whose only weakness is ignite. Which brings me to my next point: skill balancing. It sounds like when you first get ignite that it'll pwn bosses. The vendor is the only one that it does. And Hydro Smash looks pretty sweet... until you realize that it's damage cap is 11. Skill rebalancing would be very nice, as well as not having to grind your way through character levels. I found no lack in save points except for the desert, where I fought my way to its boss only to be defeated after an epic half-hour struggle. Not knowing it's health, I then had to restart from the beginning of the desert, grinded for an hour, and then had a 20-minute struggle and finally defeated the thing. Once again, rebalancing would be extremely good.
