every time the auto save happens I lose control of the bar and have to click on the window to regain control.
it makes the game really suck.

So something happens to auto after nearly 100 levels or so. It simply stops moving. So it will spawn a new ball, and just die over and over and over and over.

There's a bit of a glitch with purchasing auto intelligence. Was able to buy the last 6 levels at 200 a piece. Though as they're kinda useless I'm not sure it matters.

Follow-up: Maybe that last bit's not entirely accurate, since it seems if the ball hits the side of the paddle it gets sent down, but hitting the ball with the paddle and it going DOWN still seems off. Also, it seems the ball's vertical and horizontal speeds seem like they're independent? It makes it much more difficult to deal with a super-angled ball.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Most paddle games SET the ball's angle based on where it hits the paddle. Since you made this one to MODIFY the ball's angle based on where it hits the paddle, if the ball's going too steep and hits the wrong side of the paddle, it will actually pass through, since its new angle is more than 90 degrees off vertical. That's not to say the modify variant is bad, letting the ball just continue at the angle it was going if you hit it dead-center's nice, but having a limit on how far off straight-up the ball can be would be nice, so you don't have to worry about accidentally sending the ball DOWN with the paddle.

I enjoy the idle game factor but for some reason while running on idle the paddle can sometimes be come stuck in a wall, refusing to move once it has done so.

I'm starting to get some really weird bouncing glitches. The ball will be moving in a steady pattern in auto mode, and will just suddenly bounce out of control for no reason.

2 suggestions. It would be cool if you could upgrade the amount of lives you start with. It might be nice to have a button to restart at level 1.

Would love to see different colored bricks. level 10 all red, maybe like blue or green and they always turn back to red. could be neat to see, good game though :)

aaaaah.... played the game without rebooting my pc for a full week... rebooted today and realizes the game has no save function O_o
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
why on auto, I have to manually hit a button every time to start it? Shouldn't it continue forever until I turn auto off?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The ball seems to have collision problems when it gets going too fast. I am at level 296, and the ball sometimes doesn't register as having hit a block when it bounces off of one. If you separated the collision for hitting and bouncing back, maybe you should combine them.

Wow, i had a similar idea for an idle game about 1 year and 4 months ago. And now someone made it, but it's not very balanced.

Agreeing with Linspatz about the buy1 thing. I like the game, brings back a lot of memories :) some tuning of the prices could be good in the beginning. Good work, especially since you learned coding yourself. Thank you very much for this fun game, hope too see more :)

Buy 1 should not need to be pressed every time you open an upgrade to show up a price. It should automatically open up with the price to buy 1. The buy max button could easily just be a toggle between max and buying just one. Also the ball seems to always rebound at max speed. This creates a very uneven game play of the paddle launch the ball at normal, then it rebounding at max, and the paddle making it go back to the normal speed. I also saw no change in the AI at all between upgrades. I figured that at max it would try to actually target the bricks left but instead all it does is seem to line up so the ball goes off at an extremely slight angle in the direction the ball is already going in.
Version 1.2 is out! Buy 1 is automatically selected, I changed the paddle rebound speed, you can change the auto intel value to suit your play style. Accurate targeting system would be nice but is definitely a challenge

Might I suggest adding a "Level Skip" button. Because after making it to level 200+ just to have the game reset due to rebounds being too fast to react, and auto launch having no accuracy whatsoever, it's very time consuming and annoying to have to play through every single level again, considering the auto paddle takes its sweet time "scanning" the level. It would be much nicer if we could just skip to every tenth level or something.

Ball thoughts: It should stay the same speed all of the time, instead of firing quickly down, then bouncing slowly up. Optionally, have it accelerate over time, like Arkanoid does.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
AI thoughts: It should 'see' which side has the fewest blocks, and direct the ball that way, instead of the left-right-left loop it currently does.

Some quick suggestions to make this better: Make the buy button and text default to 1 upgrade, put in keyboard shortcuts to the upgrades (such as just numbers 1-6), put in a keyboard shortcut to buying 1 (maybe enter?), and put in a keyboard shortcut to buying max (maybe shift+enter?). I think that the gameplay suffers from not being able to easily upgrade while playing, and fixing that alone would be an enormous improvement.

why does the ball go faster after it hits a wall but slows down after it hits the paddle. the speed needs to be more consistent.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
originally i gave this game 3/5. once i found the option to turn on auto launch, it got a 5/5. A completely idle game!! classic yet original!!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
everythings so fuzzy on high :/ i love arkanoid though this is great. pretty basic, but a good start. kinda weird to have multiple clicks to buy 1 but you get used to it.

for me the auto seems to be a moron. even i have very high upgrades, this AI is stupid as hell... once the ball is in a corner with very straight fall, the game ist lost on automatic. I had it now running for 1h, and the highest it was able to reach was level 5... i have automatic intelligent on max, speed is very high, padle size and ball speed also very high... worst ai ever.

Something that I've noticed is that when the ball hit's the top, it will descend at double the speed it goes up, probably something to do with makeshift gravity effect, but it shouldn't have that much force, the resistance from the up would not make it hit the ceiling hard enough to ricochet it back at full or double force.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I've noticed that sometimes the paddle will bounce the ball and it hits exactly between 2 bricks in the first row and ONLY shows up as a hit on the brick in the back row. This is easiest to see when the auto in engaged and the paddle is sliding slowly from one side to the next, with the ball going almost straight up and down.

I'd be pretty much parroting everything everyone else has said so far. But I would add that earning a trophy should net you a reward. The progress is just too slow. And after level ten the bars reset... which isn't an improvement. The levels need to be full to earn anything quickly enough to lose to your mind. We need those big combos. Cuz 10 points per bar just isn't enough .
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Auto intel maxes at 10... still playing the safest route. Intelligence should mean that the auto paddle knows which way to direct the ball to actually hit the bars, instead of just bouncing up'n'down throughout the field until it hits something. Not much intelligence there.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Its fun for the first like 30 minutes but the progress is too slow especially for the auto mode.. i usually enjoy idle games but this one just doesnt work for me
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The "ball speed" upgrade is most times a negative upgrade if you are using auto mode, and you can't reset upgrades. If we could set the ball speed between 1 and max purchased, it would solve the problem with only a few lines of scripting
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Great, leaving it on auto doesn't do much. Eventually it just gets stuck in a loop before I get a good amount of BB. So, until these loops are fixed, this can't be called a solid idle game.
