beatiful game, good story overall 5/5. Dont rate it down if you think this is stolen. IT is not. After you can jump high, go back to castle and play th tune that you saw in the forst on th piano and a secret door will open

Spoiler alert: After getting "pooped" out by the worm have bird pick up fruit which will act like magnet on the fruit on vine. Eat a seed that allows you to "fly". That's how you get back over "dad" to go home. In the basement there's a switch toward the top left. When you hit it, a light from the floor opens up. The most frustrating part is jumping around in the guts. Apparently, there is a switch in the room right before that where it looks like a worm on the ground (beginning guts I guess). Jump around there a lot. Go into the real gut room and jump around a lot. I think the second switch is someone around the testicle looking sets of balls in the middle, but can't be sure. You know you've hit both switches when the butt looking think in the middle bottom, with a black "crack" has the crack open up. You go down there. There is a button on the ceiling in the basement, two on th ground, then you go to the secret "zerg" chamber as I call it and find the buttons. there is one on the ceiling in the first chamber, and one on the ground, and 1 on the ceiling in the 2nd chamber. I Found the basement the hardest part, and i figured it would be nice if a few lost people knew how to beat that part. if you can't beat the other parts to get to the basement, you probably should just stick to Shooters or something.

I am completely in love with this game. The ending might be dissapointing for some, but such wide range of opportuninies left me with my own imagination. The graphics, music and plot were in the same time terryfying and adorable. It has my heart and imagination. I hope there will be more games like this. (Or longer games like this) Thank you, Mr Maker.

For a game like this, not having keyboard controls for the menu options is not a great choice. The player has to keep switching between arrow keys and mouse. This is especially true because WASD doesn't work.

This game is really well made. The atmosphere is dark in some parts of the game, the messages inside the worm saying to "wake up" and to "ring the doorbell", makes the player wonder, "what is going on, what does it mean". Very great game.

i don't want to spoil anything but if you're wondering what happens to the boy, play "Skinny" by the creator (Thomas Brush). the 3rd secret item in that game tells you what happened to pete.

I see people saying that his father figure in this, is actually his father, and that he's abusive. Way I see it, he's part of his determination to wake from the coma. Fatty fatcakes was blocking the way to continue through his mind, and his dad told him to pop him. If you'd said no when he asked you to, He would say "If you don't, I'll kill you." Which shows that if he isn't going to go further, he'll stay in a coma, and die.

Pete is dead. Play Skinny, on the level where you have to give people 6 batteries in their chairs, there is a hidden cross with the words "Here lies pete, may his body rest in this church as his soul does in the afterlife"...
So...

When I play DEBAB at the start of the game the secret basement door doesn't open. It only magically allows access at the end.

I remember seeing the music notes and realizing that because the notes were written out for the song played by the man in the forest, this game is able to be played by the deaf (or those without sound, I guess) Anyway, it was a sweet gesture inside an already adorable and beautifully made game.

This was one of the greatest games I have played in awhile. The interesting gameplay, the beautiful artwork, the captivating story line. . . It was a refreshing game to play. Even the different characters and their personalities gives this a sort of 'dream like' feel. From the beginning, this game captured my interest; starting in a gloomy room with a grand piano, letting me play the Chicken Dance as the first thing to do in the game. There's only two things that I can critique. One, the title of the game sort of gave away the ending, as open ended as it was. It almost made me assume that this was all a coma induced dream world, but didn't faze me too much. The second was that you had to click during the dialogue, when it would be easier to use a space bar and the arrow keys. But it was pretty quick and easy to get used to, as I was more interested in the story line of the game. Now, if only it was longer! Thank you so much for this great game and addition to Kongregate, Wittyhobos!

I love this game. It is atmospheric, has amazing music, beautiful art, and an enjoyable story. However, those annoying ads for your Facebook killed much of the atmosphere, so I'm only giving you 4/5 instead of 5/5.

This game seems like such a lovely, light hearted adventure... but somehow you just get the sense that there is something seriously, horribly wrong about it all.

in case y'all don't know, this was turned into a steam game in 2020, it was originally called Once Upon a Coma (but was changed to neversong), and it had pretty different gameplay as this one, but still following the same concept and having a few returning characters, like fatty. You should try it!

With all apologies to Kongregate, do yourself a favor and play the version of this game on the developer's website (http://atmosgames.com/coma.html). The Kongregate version seems to be missing the great music and the dialog audio. Also the website version doesn't have the Facebook/Twitter CTA, which is an eyesore on such a lovely game.

@shaedo you're absolutly right. This, along with The Company of Myself, ImmorTall, and little wheel would all go into their own catigory. I hope games with deep meaning stay alive on kongregate forever!!

this is one of the most amazing, beautiful, emotional and overall incredible games i have ever played. The music, art, gameplay and story are all perfect and i dont think i will foget this experience for a while. Beautiful Game 5/5

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that a good portion of this game requires random jumping around in a black area trying to find a platform or passage out of the room. Maybe it's just my screen (it's on maximum brightness), but I couldn't see anything in the whole "secret basement", aside from a few points of light, a glint from the character's eye and some kind of pulsing organ in one room. Same thing throughout the "silver chute" area. I had no idea there was a "boat" until I read it in the comments below. Makes me wonder what else I missed.
Aside from that, I liked the art style and atmosphere. Not a bad little diversion for a Sunday afternoon.
