Under rating threshold (show) *Spoiler* The ending boat represents the one in greek mythology where it ferries the soul of the deceased to the other world.. The man in the reflection was Charon the ferryman of Hades. The flying thing could be the part of Pete's mind that want him to die because of his abusive father. It not only lied about the basement, it also lied about Mama Gomgassa. Basically agree with hazel61 about the different body parts - the sky is his brain, the silver chute is the feeding chute, the basement represents the heart, which he turns off in the end. The left right swap may be referring to the opposite controls of each side of the brain versus the arms, left controls right right controls left. Mama gomgassa are the memories of the voice of her mom telling him not to die. Also if you played the sequel "Skinny" there is an object that tells you Pete actually died.

Under rating threshold (show) Pete did not die. Did you notice the odd shape of the boat? The boat is, in fact his hospital bed. As he slowly becomes conscious, his dream becomes more and more realistic. The guts were his IV bags. They pulsated to the beep of his hearbeat monitor. Furthermore, Pete is a small child. This explains the spelling errors (Dore bell) and the whimsical aspects of the adventure (Talking bird, anyone?) As for the characters, the bird is his mother. By playing along with his subconscious, she attempted to wake him up. The "I lied" line is his mother confessing about the "game", in case her attempt fails. (It doesn't.) The fisherman is a doctor. The big lady is a nurse. The little girl named Jon is the "Bad" side of his personality. The swinging boy is the "Good" side. Everything else is simply his imagination.

Under rating threshold (show) It's so rare that someone has the talent, the time, the drive and the skill to produce something like this. There are other games with a similar feel, certainly of the same genre; but still this is completely unique. It would be nice if Kongregate had a games section for 'art house' (or other synonym) games (along with the shooters, puzzles etc) because games like these are in a class of their own. Respect to you wittyhobos.

Under rating threshold (show) Is it possible Pete is a kid? I know that's how I spelled Door when I was young. The handwriting also seemed like someone younger. The environments were really simple and "Kiddie", then it goes into the nightmare stages with "Big Scary Worms." This is just my opinion.

Under rating threshold (show) Pete definitely dies in the end. The silver shoot is a feeding tube keeping him alive. The worm is his digestive system. The sky (not the basement) represents Pete's brain, which is where the tumor (Mama Gomgassa) is located - putting aside the obvious fact that you have to go "up" to get there, the trees around her look somewhat like neurons. The brain tumor is what causes the disorientation that makes left right and right left. The basement is Pete's heart. The key to his heart is his sister. Turning off the switches stops the heart, then you're dropped down to the gateway to the underworld. Nothing about the boat looks like a hospital bed to me. It has the curved prow and stern of old-fashioned Greek boats, which fits with the Grecian myth where Charon ferries the dead into the underworld. The ringing of the "dore bell" sounds a lot like a bell tolling at a funeral. Also, the text at the end says "thee nd," a subtle way of letting you know that it's not just "the end" but YOUR end.

Under rating threshold (show) I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that a good portion of this game requires random jumping around in a black area trying to find a platform or passage out of the room. Maybe it's just my screen (it's on maximum brightness), but I couldn't see anything in the whole "secret basement", aside from a few points of light, a glint from the character's eye and some kind of pulsing organ in one room. Same thing throughout the "silver chute" area. I had no idea there was a "boat" until I read it in the comments below. Makes me wonder what else I missed. Aside from that, I liked the art style and atmosphere. Not a bad little diversion for a Sunday afternoon.

Under rating threshold (show) I see people saying that his father figure in this, is actually his father, and that he's abusive. Way I see it, he's part of his determination to wake from the coma. Fatty fatcakes was blocking the way to continue through his mind, and his dad told him to pop him. If you'd said no when he asked you to, He would say "If you don't, I'll kill you." Which shows that if he isn't going to go further, he'll stay in a coma, and die.

Under rating threshold (show) Love this. Very well made, very original. It's very Kytt-like, Kytt being an old game with similar style and focus on non-violent platforming. This game has atmosphere and that atmosphere allows it to tell a story with very few words, and that's always refreshing. Good job.

Under rating threshold (show) This was one of the greatest games I have played in awhile. The interesting gameplay, the beautiful artwork, the captivating story line. . . It was a refreshing game to play. Even the different characters and their personalities gives this a sort of 'dream like' feel. From the beginning, this game captured my interest; starting in a gloomy room with a grand piano, letting me play the Chicken Dance as the first thing to do in the game. There's only two things that I can critique. One, the title of the game sort of gave away the ending, as open ended as it was. It almost made me assume that this was all a coma induced dream world, but didn't faze me too much. The second was that you had to click during the dialogue, when it would be easier to use a space bar and the arrow keys. But it was pretty quick and easy to get used to, as I was more interested in the story line of the game. Now, if only it was longer! Thank you so much for this great game and addition to Kongregate, Wittyhobos!
