the game is great. it would be nice if you could get more money for more troops and set up traps such as mines to aide you in the battle. 4/5 game

Strategy for an extremely easy game: Buy the springfield after the first level, then buy German MG's, and place them every second square starting from one end of the trench. The area covered by MG's can be left alone, so you only have to focus on at most one half of the battlefield. After lvl. 13, I didn't fire a single shot, and just watched my men take care of everything by themself.

What do you mean "Nothing would prepare us for what would come."?
Clearly soldiers, weapons, and artillery strikes could prepare you for mindless post-injured bodies that have no range attack whatsoever. Wouldn't the prospect of an actual war be a bit more frightening?

a trench is a deep hole in the ground... how does a zombie break a hole!?
make some sort of barrier or they get in perhaps?
rate + if you agree!

Ah yes, my men equipped with state-of-the-art( for the time) fully automatic rifle- caliber machine guns secure less than one tenth what I did with my bolt- action SMLE.

Good game, a bit repetitive but fun. It'd be sweet if you could choose at the beggining if between a class like infantryman or gunner and whatnot. And that would determine what guns you get to choose.

Survival mode: If you are gonna let us save the money for the next game, the waves need to get tougher. 10 MG and the game plays it self.
Artillery buttons should have hotkeys + they seem a little unresponsive.
Scroll with hotkeys would be nice. It's annoying that it scrolls when you try to hit an enemy near the edge.

I really like this game but am I missing something? Based on the stats, the infantry seems WAY better than the machine gunners.

game fix - when you point the soldiers gun to the bottom left / right, he has no forearms... just a small fix, Agreed with others, the game is good, but you can make improvements and add in extra options to make it a more versatile game. Good work, keep it up! 4/5, i like it.

I like the game, very nice art, a pity your GUI and menu design wasn't up to the same standard of design or atmospheric quality that your in-game graphics set. The flat terrain and constant use of a single straight line of trench in the story missions really wastes a lot of potential for tactical placement of troops, and your enemies never seem to do anything that would warrant using the artillery strikes.
The greatest flaw is that biggest obstacle to the player isn't the enemies, but the clunky controls. The slow view pan is a gigantic hindrance, and the inability to use anything other than the mouse to control the view means that you can't line up a shot and turn to face a new threat at the same time, which is a major problem.
Aside from that, you do have some balance issues, and some historical errors that would seen nitpicky to bring up. Still, a solid game with a good premise, but if you ever plan on making a sequel, consider polishing up both gameplay and the interface.

I keep trying to push "1" to activate an artillery strike! I appreciate that you can play this game with only a mouse, but could you please install some quick keys?

@metalicasaw - the US didn't become the strongest military until after WWII, back in WWI The US was just another army
