@Naruto, this is a bullet hell game. Try flying between the projectiles and learning which enemies can actually shoot at you, which just fire spread patterns and simply figure out how to maneuver around while using your Defensive Wave when needed. Sure, you can just tank everything, but if you are not willing to learn how to avoid getting hit and learning how the different enemies attack, you're going to have a hard time with other bullet hell games. The last 3 levels and the bonus level might be hard to get perfects on, but it's possible. I might have when I played this a few years ago, and have the first 7 perfected yesterday when this was BotD and started from scratch, and I'm just an average player, if that.

@gameTommy, The shield is actually the Red bar and is affected by leveling up the shielding increase perks. The Defensive wave is the Blue bar. The shield is always active until you run out of shielding and are forced to retreat.
On that note, You cannot activate the Defensive wave if you get hit. You also cannot activate Defensive wave if the mouse is "not in" the game window.

@Yuffie41862: The shield doesn't turn on when taking damage because you don't HAVE a shield. The shield is called a "defensive wave" because it is activated manually by the player, and the defensive wave destroys all enemy attacks in the wave.

This is so stupid, shit just flys at you with no rhyme or reason. It's like it wants to be a bullet hell game but fails at the very basic of it.
The shield does not respond when getting hit and with everything hitting you constantly you're dead if cornered by the boss. Only thing you can do is max out health and tank everything, the exact opposite of what you're supposed to do but it's all that you can.

The shield button sometimes doesn't respond when taking damage. I'm not sure if this is a mouse/mousepad issue, but it does get a little annoying.

Pretty cool game. 4/5 I'd give it 5 stars if the graphics were better (instead of simple shapes) and the stats and upgrades were clearer and maybe a list with enemies so I can calculate how much damage I need to do to kill them in a single shot.

The upgrades should say how much of an improvement you're buying. Are we talking about 5% more damage/speed/shield or 50%?

Ah, Pixelvader. This game is really interesting.
Although the foes might be frustrating at times, they actually taught me something very important. If you get defeated, don't back down and give up. Instead, you should learn the patterns of your enemies' attacks and aim to grab as many key upgrades as possible to defeat them quickly.
Level 11 was the most difficult level for me, as I'm sure it has been for a lot of other fellow players as well. However, after failing around five times, I finally realized what you need to have in a situation like this- Patience. Sure, the upgrades help a lot, but learning how to patiently evade the bullets is also very important. Both of those things helped me beat the game.
The game is great, The rating is not excellent, but I am sure that it will get better as time passes.
But I'm talking too much! So, what I will say to end this is... thank you. For the great game.

I've played much grinder games than this and the ship's speed (like in most games) can be upgraded. Try actually playing the game.

On the plus: enemy bullets don't hurt you
On the minus: after 3 bullets, you're out so you're basically stuck in limbo

It's a good base, but it has way too much grinding. It would be so much more fun to play if the ship moved about twice as fast and the hitbox was slightly smaller.

I think it's broken 'cause I only see green things and red things, and the background is black so the graphics are wrong and broken.

kinda grindy, also repetitive after a time, all you do is improving shield, damage and attack speed till you pass the level. 2/5

This has probably been mentioned somewhere but if you want to save yourself from a lot of heartache for lvl 11 get your defensive wave abilities up pretty high especially the reload time after you use ability all you have to do is manage to not get hit for less than 5 seconds then use ability again.

That's the kind of bullet hells where you think, you are trying to beat the game, but in the end upgrades do it for you. :) Nice game anyway, not too grindy, and certainly not boring(like a lot of crap which gets BotD sometimes).
