I dont like shooters very much, but stayed for the story. What also i dont like about the game is that the gaming part is too much disconnected from the story part. It was like playing was a bother only to advance with the plot.. if you make a sequel (and i hope so) consider a better integration between the game and the story.
4/5.

Well, I gotta say, you sure lured me in. I played this from beginning to end because I was invested in the story. You sure made one hell of a tale (and a very complex, fun shooter to boot). I agree with others that a sequel will be most welcomed or at the very least, a bigger expansion on this story because you made an interesting cast and setting. 5/5

There was a lot of text, but it was a fairly interesing game, and I like the artwork. 4/5, and I'm not that fair in yet it seems...

Very relaxing game, the music is deep, the story is engaging, the parlance is rich. I keep listening to the musics even when not playing. I can't wait to proceed with the adventure. Downsides: The stages could be more complex and repeat less. But this is more an RPG than a shooter. Very pleasant... 5/5, and one more wishing for a sequel ;)

The stages are kind of repetitive, but the storyline makes up for it. Speaking of which, as feedback, i suggest you delegate more decision power to the player, enabling him more control over the relationships he has with the crew members.

My previous comment got downvoted because I said winning first Firebolt encounter is luck-based in hard mode. Can anyone reading this beat it consistently?

Second post today. I just finished the game and man, the ending was great. I was expected something with Ginny being revived and stuff along the lines of "they lived happily ever after", which would have been cheesy and totally predictable (although satisfying). Instead, I was surprised - somewhat, at least - I had expected Deuce to sacrifice himself and somewhat expected him to be saved through some magic power, but I didn't expect Starwish to show up. I picked the Bamboo ending, being that I loved Swig a little more than the others (except Johnny, who I loved more but didn't seem as needy).
Of course, I had to watch the other endings on Youtube. Apparently who you talk to does matter for the endings, which is a nice final twist - it's always cool to see that you didn't get everything and that there's more to do in a replay.
Again, great game and I really hope you make another, by which I mean a new game in a different (or similar) universe but not a direct sequel.

Excellent work overall, with a few concerns; namely, the skills aren't that well-labeled. I had expected "extra shots from the secondary fire" to mean an increase in fire rate, not fire in both directions. It's frustrating to gear oneself toward a particular build and then find that you're locked out of it entirely. Had I known the skill Demolitions would do what it does instead of a boosted fire rate, I'd have gotten a different one. Perhaps, for a steep price, one should be able to buy a skill - or stat - reset?

An amazing work of art! Almost cried at some points and actually did at the end with the initial dialog and granting Johnny his wish. I'm still kind of emotional while writing this because of the song. Incredible dialogs full of emotion and fun at the right times. Awsome choice of songs. Amazing personality on the characters. Would rate more if i could but i can only rate 5/5. Congratulations dev on the best game i've played in a while! Thanks!

For the finals boss, I recommend putting 5 mods on engine, crit, evade, and accuracy. Put around 7 on regen and shield, and put the rest on Health (was around 35 for me). Use sawmines and scatter missiles as your weapons.

(WARNING: I tried my best not to spoil anything - so badly wanted to express my thoughts here)
---
"Nyaa~! Mister Deuce is mine!" Words that gave me some best feelings after having explored the entire game.
---
I (subjectively) would wish for myself to also perish as soon as that scent of pine would no longer be around me. Having traveled an infinite distance to finally be together again, there is definitely no reason to once more be separated.
---
I picked my vote. I doubt it would come first place anyway.

I loved this game so much, once I beat it, I just didn't want to think about it anymore. Now, I play it everyday. Best Story, with the common shooting game. 15/10

OH MY GOD I REMEMBER THIS GAME! This game was sooo much fun the last time I played it... but because of my stinking memory I remember all the twists :(... It's funny though, seeing Johnny is what triggered it.

AMAZING game, really. If there is a sequel, there needs to be a few more game mechanics like playing mini-games with everyone on the ship to earn some extra cash and stuff needs to cost less.

For some reason before I had a account I played the games that now have the badge of the day. So now I'm a pro at the games and I'm getting a lot of badges and pets. Thank you congregate.

The hell is with this lag? This game makes my entire browser CHUG. And I can play Freefall Tournament and the likes no problem. CHUGGA-CHUGGA-CHOO-CHOO

You know that one thing about that person that happened? That got a reaction out of me. (being ambiguous for no spoilers)

I'm more of a fast bullet-hell kinda person but this game is still nice... Just a bit too much text for my likeing. 4/5 :p

To be honest, I thought the story got off to a jarring start, since the prologue didn't paint the pirate side as even remotely sympathetic, and then the game abruptly drops you into the role of a pirate and expects you to suddenly accept that their side are the good guys. I liked how things picked up afterwards though.

also, why is every one like "HERMARGET BEST STURY EVAR!" the story sucks, unoriginal, conversations are boring, and the music is probably the worse.

This is a fantastic game. I came to get the badge of the day and I was very surprised at how fun a space shooter was. The gameplay isn't extraordinary, but the story is brilliant. It's vibrant with plenty of strong, fleshed out characters who are interesting. Traveling through the story tells you all about these characters and you learn very surprising things about each and every one of them. The artwork is great and there aren't any visuals I don't like. Oh, and the female characters are great and don't have ridiculously sexual appearances, which is something of a rarity in anime/manga styles.

When Deuce was handed the small box as part of his birthday presents, I thought it was going to be the stuffed snail he gave to Ginny when she came on board. I just about cried at the possibility. Very well written and was a joy, though sometimes frustrating (Ice Dragon 3 and Monolith 3 Stages in particular) to play. 5/5.

Weirdest part of this game is how levelling up makes you worse in every way - all of your abilities drop and you need to raise your stats to return to your former ability line, and as you gain more weapons, it becomes harder and harder to find the upgrades you want in the shop.

Never find this game likeable due to 1 particular achievement that completely based on luck (especially on hard mode). The resets ruin completionist's experience, IMO, though once you past that the game is a breeze.
