I spent almost an hour trying to beat the tutorial boss (and I did. Yay, me!) before I figured out there's New Game Plus...

A side-scrolling space shooter with relatively original guns and a story worth listening to? I approve. So many times I tried to predict things. Sometimes they turned out true, sometimes they didn't, but even the most random details had some sort of hint to them before they were revealed. I won't claim the story is an amazing perfection of everything writing, but it's definitely worth checking out, combined with gameplay that can be considered decent at bear minimum and pretty good at maximum.

My review - Is this really a free game on Kongregate? Feels more like it's a $10 game on Steam. No, that would be an insult to this game and it's community... This game is definitely worth $20+. Very well done, devs. Very well done, indeed.

I came in thinking "I'm gonna play some side scrolling shooters tonight for a bit..." I literally starting playing this game more than 4 hours ago and I'm not done yet. (Also, only two in game achievements so far... lol)

I wouldn't hold out too much hope for SETI finding much. Space is a big place. And "close to Earth" could mean thousands of light years.

The briefest of all updates on the possibility of a sequel, xdanond was recently active on his twitter account posting a new character for a "secret project". Almost 7 years later, even if it isn't a sequel, it would still be another xdanond game.

Sequel or new concept I don't care, as long as the next game makes improvements and isn't a damn phone game I am happy, hopefully it is released this year, which might be the case with the reveal of info.

The sequel dream is not dead! Check out the creator's twitter at https://twitter.com/xdanond . He's recently posted art, including an updated version of Ginny, for a "new top secret game."

@TeitiTT, you have to max it out or keep it at a high %. I know it sounds weird, but to increase your stats, you have to keep it at a certain percentage, & that % is determined by all the skill points you have. For example, if I want 100% crit DMG, I need 100% maxed out INT. If I level up & allocate my points into something else & INT is not maxed out for my current level, the CRIT DMG % drops

I loved playing this game. Like the rest of the comments already said, i would love a way to donate to a sequel of this. This is one of my favorite RPG's

Firebolt is also possible with the "Mission Impossible". The key is to keep moving slowly up or slowly down. If getting close to the edge, then look for an opening to quickly whip through. Also, if you go fast enough, there is about a 50% chance the lasers won't hit you. Save overdrive in case you get cornered. This one is WAY easier with maxed offense (like I had) as you will have to face it basically head on (as opposed to Earthwall).

BTW, my "Mission Impossible" challenge (extreme mode, only shields for 1 laser) IS actually possible for Earthwall. The trick there I found was to use bombs and be more right when it is below you and then just skillfully dodge when it moves close to the top. Having strong offense/agility helps (ironically I did it with 0 agility boost (so bombs were min damage), so it is possible even without those boosts).

If anyone wants ridiculous amounts of money, take insurance with max health mods & moolah mods (doesn't even matter if you have a defense build; my build is 0% defense). I am making about 10x the amount I make from the bosses in insurance (and I am doing NG+ every time I reach Iblis, so I have max boss drops too).

If anyone else gets super-annoyed at enemies spawning on top of them while in the sweet spot for the drone, use charge as that will kill them before they hit you if at a decent level/charge.

Personal favorite strategy (only use if you want a challenge): 50% Offense, 100% Intel/Luck. No mods in any defense/shield/regen (so basically any attack will hurt or kill you); instead, max out exp/moola. Very fast leveling & money gain, and it turns the game into more of a "bullet hell" experience. May need some shields/HP for bosses though ;)

FYI, if anyone was curious, Insurance is based on the AMOUNT of health remaining, not the percent. (I was curious, so I tested it both ways.)

Final update to my Mission Impossible challenge (Extreme mode, Only shields for 1 laser, no regen mods): Finally beat all normal levels doing it. I have cheated each time for the boss levels. Hardest level by far was world 3 Ancient Ruins (Monolith). The sheer amount of lasers, along with the sword made that one a total pain to beat with only hitting one laser (unless shields had reset). To anyone who goes after the true bosses with this setup, GOOD LUCK! :D

Update to my MI challenge: Am in world 3, all in extreme mode. For both Earthwall & Firebolt, I did have to increase the shields, but besides those two levels, I have done all others with only 20 shield mods. One of the hardest aspects is that ANY collision or ANY large shot is OHKO. Am having a lot of problems with W3 City Master due to the sheer number of large shots and the giant orb (also OHKO). Monolith is also an issue with the number of lasers.
