I am a 30 YO man and I almost cried at the end. From a goddamn flash game. Its 5/5, its superb, the story... so good. You should go and write a book right now Mr Developer!

Two or three years since I last played this, I never got the special ending, that is about to change. I have to admit that playing this game will make me miss the developer even more, I hope he returns someday, Starwish is a rare kind of game

I decided to revisit this game recently and I can say without a doubt that this game has withstood the test of time. Even by today's standards the storytelling in this game is absolutely brilliant, the character development is done so well and the endings didn't fail at making you feel so many emotions. I would still love to see a sequel although the chances of that happening look bleak at the moment. I will always hold a spot in my heart for this game. Thanks for the brilliant memories.

"It's said that love is the most powerful force in the universe. I am attempting to harness that power to create weapons of mass destruction."
What the hell, Deadeye?

I wonder if it's even possible to win the very first mission. If you notice when you shoot the boss ship, it's health does indeed go down ever so slightly. Could someone with enough Bullet Hell experience take a crack at seeing what happens if you deplete it's health bar? Something interesting might happen, who knows? Or, you know, not.

I think mare is also based of "mare", Latin for "sea." But symmantics aside, this is my favorite flash game of all time. The story was incredible, and the characters were memorable. The plot twists caught me off guard, and none of the endings left me unsatisfied or looking for more. 5/5.

So... each character's name is similar to their unique appearance, role, race, or personality. Such as "Deadeye" with her real name Dedai, Deuce with Deus ("god" in latin), Johnny wit janni XD, Mare as nightmare and marin, and Ginny as Jinni. I wonder what are tessa and swig for and i almost refer deuce as douchebag XD. And Btw, i have lots to say about this game, but in general AWESOME but not perfect. But still it is good, and it deserved to earn that best of 2011 game. 4/5

Here's my updated build: Max Intel & Luck, Halfway Offense. Luck increases other growths via the items and stacks nicely with Intel for super crit, and the combination trumps Offense. Ignore Agility & Defense; instead get 15/15 Engine mods and then keep pumping up shield mods.

MCShovel, it changes your starting stats. Nothing else. Personally I like to go with a 100% offense and intelligence build, with remaining in agility. If you can dodge a lot, shields provide enough protection (along with the dual shield mods) and intelligence helps all of your stats grow more quickly.

Does the dialogue change depending on what you picked at the start, or is the main character just my spirit animal or something?

Loved the story, however, after a while the "action"-levels become a bit too repetitive, same bosses wit some new skills, but when you upgrade it's only just a matter of taking the tie to fly through the levels. It feels almost an unneccessary deviation from the main-story.

Oh my good. I regret so much for not playing this beautifull game up untill now. This is one of the best stories in all of the video games or even ever. Truly a masterpiece.

A sad part of this story is when the Firebolt annihilated the Earthwall in its kamikaze attempt. "The Earthwall was no more". I began to cry.

@Eventterminator When games with multiple endings like this get a sequel the neutral ending usually becomes cannon otherwise it's up to the player to decide.

I've been a casual user of Kongregate for quite a few years, but never bothered to become a member until now, just so that I can comment on how great this game is.
To think this was made in 2011, and I just happened to come across it now, what a shame.
Great idea on making different language versions by the way, it gives me another way to build up my Mandarin.

Somehow the ship's movement keeps sticking for me, even though it worked fine a couple years ago. o.o
It's too bad, because it makes this literally unplayable on Hard mode. ><

I agree in part with KeeVeeN. While I played the whole thing, the gameplay really did need more work. Even small changes could yield large returns, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say this could be among the best games of all time with gameplay improvements, or even a gameplay concept change.

This ending was awesome, and if were to be honest I don't think it needs a sequel. This is by far the best RPG I've ever played. 6/5

I came for the badge of Monday, now I just finished the game, That was fun, and the story was excellent. The characters really are surprising and I grew attached to them very quickly. I love this game !
