The matchmaking is poor, im going up against people below and above my capabilities to proceed in enjoying the game, I anticipated a game to understand after 4 years running to have matchmaking more equal for players to enjoy, but nope.

PART 5
Making statements that could result in negative consequences for the game or its development, including groundless criticism on its features or the developers" Now, what is "groundless criticism" is apparently up to mods.
Making sure the global chat is free of racism or heated flaming sessions is one thing. Muting players for voicing their opinions about the game is another.
TO SUM IT UP...
Having in mind the above the final verdict is somewhat difficult. The core of the game is worth 4 stars. With some polish and balancing as well as improving the connection, easily 5 stars game.
Taking into the consideration they way staff handles their product however I cannot bring myself to give it more than 3 stars.
Which is a shame.

PART 4
...AND THE UGLY...
*) devs/chat/community/atmosphere
We all know those online games with unpleasant communities. Different kinds of unpleasant. The kind of unpleasant I'm talking about here reminds me a bit of the world from George Orwell's "1984". Obviously I'm exaggerrating here but the core idea remains the same. The 'chat wardens' of Doom Forge take their holy duty quite seriously. If you say something they don't like, they will happily whack you in the head with their little banhammers. So if you like to your honest opinion of the game with other players, don't do it the chat. Yes, I'm serious, their rules forbid you from criticizing the great wonder that Doom Forge is in the chat. Look up the rules. "7. Criticism the game or the developers

PART 3
*) p2w/grind other chores
Well to be honest p2w in this game (at least in the beggining) is not the most evil form that p2w can take. With the gear bough for silver from the market and some skill you should be pretty much fine. U will however feel lacking. Gear costs. Alot. And dev(il)s dont really want to give you too much silver. So you have a choice here - a credit card or patience. Huge amounts of the latter might I add.
THE BAD:
*) LAGG. while the 'not so good' section is about moderately unpleasant design flaws, this little demon here is nothing short of evil.
With the dynamic combat system that Doom Forge offers, timing is the key.
With monstrous ping and laggy connection that key is no,longer effective, which can be quite frustrating.

PART 2
THE NOT SO GOOD:
*) artworks/graphics/interface forgive me here, but It feel like they just ripped off some of world of warcraft's visual aspects and put it here.
Minor inconvenience.
*)but speaking of wow, something that might pose a much bugger threat to your good time playing this game - CC.
Have you played wow recently? If so were you into pvp? were you perhaps somewhat bugged by the amount of cc u faced (the famous forum phrase 'crowd control is out of control' comes to mind)? If not, then rest easy. If you did however, u might also feel a bit uncomfortable playing Doom Forge.
Paladin class for example is able to interrupt your skills very often (like every 1-2 sec. kind of often). You have of course, some ways to deal with cc but is pvp about fighting other players or fighting to retain control of your toon?

PART 1
*WARNING*: A more or less honest (duh) review. Read at your own peril.
So lets start with a little bit of background. I've found this game a few years ago (2 or 3? dont remember) before the 'overhaul' played it a bit, than stopped. Came back to see what changed...
and to be fair it gave me a mixed feeling.
SO lets start with:
THE GOOD:
*)combat. the 'new' forge made the little arena game that it is quite engaging. Timing is quite important, and the skill can make a difference between losing terribly or winning with 80%+ Hp left. The core part of game seems to be completely fine. At first at least.
