Fighting looks weird: soldiers run everywhere, swing their weapons in all direction, blood flies, battle rages... and the 2 flag bearers chat in the middle.

felscar, look at how your squads grow as you increase in levels and you will get a feeling of at least part of what level does. increasing equipment is just a money issue (so is buying squads) this can be farmed though redoing levels gives less gold than the first time, xp I have found is only increased the first time i play a level, so that is definately finite. upon finishing my archers and starting troops where level 6, the last troops you can acquire where only 2 and 3. a level 2 catapult group was not larger than the lvl 1 if i recall, but maybe they just shoot better or faster.
As I've written earlier we wanted to add more cool stuff, but we must sometimes stop and finish the game. :-) But we are going to add everything you dream about in the sequel :-)

Just. GREAT! All my hours of Dark Omen and Horned Rat, with dynamics and good gameplay =) 5/5! Reall hope to see more of this... With artifacts/spellcasters maybe, as well as with unit stats. I did not know my 8 spearmen were actually equivalent to 15 swordsman as regards effectiveness...

what do the different colors on the crown icons from finished battles indicate? did i miss something?
note to the people complaining about being ambushed from behind in some levels; i agree, sneak attacks from the rear are totaly unheard of in war,and are a serious flaw in this game. :) i always leave my spearmen to guard my ranged units from behind, and haven't had any problems.

@felscar the exp lvl augments the number of soldiers in the squad. As far as I know, it's not necessary to buy further upgrades

Enjoyable game, as stated elsewhere on here it's a good nod to the old Dark Omen series. Just a couple of points:-
-It's spelt "stricken" (not "striken")
-It's not really clear what the xp level of your squads actually DOES - are you unable to buy further unit upgrades if you haven't got a high enough xp level? In any case, it's not something people are likely to run into, as the amount of money you get, even from repeating the earlier maps, seems to be a lot less than would be required for buying / upgrading all units to the max.
Forgive me if I have pointed out something wrongly - I'm still playing through it so the answers may yet be in there. But good effort all round :)

The pathfinding of the unit is horrible, it's the main reason why you can lose the first map. In fact I've done the first 11 levels with the same method : stay still and don't move to engage ennemy unit. If you don't move, the unit don't run around the bushes ans trench like a bunch of braindead and can fight instead of dying while runing.

Thats a nice semi;idle game to my point of view... You should let us know which team we set in the field before the battle. When clicking on a team, there is no details about it.

4.The chests, i don't like them. you have to break up your formation to get them. Only possible if you win no matter what you do.
5.Add possibilities to control the behavior of your units, things like hold the line.
6.it shouldn't be possible to just run through a enemy unit (ok it should be possible to run through range with cavalry etc, but it's just strange that you can run through pikes with your infantry, and it makes it harder to control your unit).
Overall i would love to see a sequel which is more tactic.
P.S. i see the Kongregate adv. too
Thanks for your big participation! Your suggestion are great but it'll take alot of work to make all of them, so they will be probably only in a sequel.

First of all, good game, good artwork. But i have some wishes:
1.Bigger maps, there is no space to do good cavalry attacks.
2.Make it a bit slower, than you would also be able to place all the enemy unit's from the beginning (if the map is big enough)
3.Don't let spawn enemies behind you, or you should see them from beginning. It's impossible to plan your tactics if your range units get attack from behind from one second to the other.
Thank you! 1&2: We are thinking about artifacts, spells, big maps and other cool things. Probably all of them will be in a sequel. 3: It's is a part of fun! Great commander must be ready to any surprises ;-)

The first time I played this I took both troops and sent them in and they both got killed. Second time I tried it I left them standing still and they won.
As I wrote earlier, if troops are too far from leader they will run to him, not fight. Sorry if it is not clear enough. Also after fix (VERSION 1.3.1) everything must be ok.

This is much fun playing, but still i have 2 sugestions: First i have 2 infantery squads with different equipmant-quality, but i cant see the difference between them during the fight. Second, time-freaze button would be nice, to coordinate troop movement, especialy when there are many scuads.

Thanks for reply. For now you can use keyboard keys 1-8 if you wan to select specific squad. But I noted it and I think we will make different icons in the patch (added in UPDATE VERSION 1.4). We will think about time freeze, but I cannot promise anything with this.
Make sure that you placed BOTH squads on battle field (click on squad icon on the top of the screen, then click on highlited area. Click on another squad icon, etc). First mission is pretty easy, you should win it anyway, if you used both squads.

Love the game, but a lot of things could be much better. Generally maps are too small to make sensefull tactical movements. then there is hardly enough space to set up your units and your pretty well outnumbered in all levels, mostly faster enemies then you. so it is stand an fight 90% of the time, with little room for effective decisions. i would like to see larger maps, and an option to give orders to your units, to keep in defensive formation. melee units are in mindless attack-mode, storming undisciplined into the enemy. 3/5

But please do not forget that we are on flash platform whit big amount of restrictions, when you compare this game with other PC games of this genre. We want to introduce massive wargames to the flash, and we did our best to bring you fun. If the people like wargame then we will work more in this genre and bring you the best games.

great game, just a small note. WE ARE on kongregate. you do not need he in-game ad here. It is in the way when I play!
You must not see any advertisement if you play on kongregate. Kongregate's button "more games" is the part of branding, you can see it in any sponsored by Kongregate game.

first how about adding auto attack,and how about my troops being able to run would help my other troops instead of walking to them.and times speed.
Units will auto attack when they close enough to enemy, and will left the battle if their leader far enough. (IMPROVED IN VERION 1.3) I do not think that it's possible to add time multiplier - there is a lot of calculations for AI and physics, they wont have enough processor time when even doublespeed.

Keyboard commands for selecting Squads please! Some pathing issues, troops walking into walls trying to follow their banners instead of walking around the walls. A few more options to lower graphics will help lap top users also. Very cool game though!
Keyboard commands is a great idea - it will be done! (ADDED IN VERION 1.3) To keep performance great, units do not have strong pathfiding AI, you should controll it yourself - it's a part of game mechanics. We got adaptive graphics quality - it will be lowered when FPS going down.
