@rainlord there are only a few cards that are broken, in the sense of a bug, and you didn't mention any. Cards being broken by being OP isn't discussed, so let's not think about that. The only thing 'broken' in the game, is the card text. Moreover, two cards can have similar wording, but a different effect (compare immaterial to SoFr).
As for this case, wording is not off. as I said before, it is an on-hit effect; meaning it only happens when it succesfully deals damage. It wouldn't make sense if a scorpion would poison you if it didn't penetrate your skin, would it?
Note that every shield in the game only affects attacking creatures, and the opponent's weapon. special effects (except for solar shield, obviously) only trigger when the damage did not get fully blocked- you won't freeze an unbuffed photon with an ice shield.
Finally, I have to ask you to not insult people. You obviously care about the game (you'd have quit if you didn't), so a good community is in your best interest.

@aonar I am being rational: either the card mechanic or the description on it is broken. I keep finding several other cards are broken and inconsistent as well. I didn't insult anyone before I was down-rated. If you down-rate me of course I will insult you. I am only one guy trying to reason with the several as sholes in this forum. Treat others as you want to be treated, its the golden rule. The way you treated me, have a big f uck you to everyone except Fr33zee, I will not reply to any stupid comments anymore.

Here is another: Immaterial creatures cannot be targeted, yet the thunderstorm that is NOT a targeting spell does not damage them. This is complete bul lshit, elementary stuff, this actually takes effort to do wrong.

Well rainlord, as you have just finished up your 7 quests badge for this game, try some other strategies. Being serious here, you cannot play any card game for the little amount of time you have played and expect to be taken seriously. Hell, I've been playing on and off for ages and still barely know anything about all the various useful decks in this game. Enjoy the game for what it is, and find/move on to others that fulfill what this one does not.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Well, Rainlord, I'm sorry to break your day, but Emerald Shield only reflects targeting spells, like Fire Bolt, that target a PLAYER. It will not block Poison, and it blocks 1 damage, making the damage a creature with 1 attack would do nulled. Basically, you're arguing a flawed point. I know how the card text works, trust me. Playing a lot of tcgs help with that. Now why don't you stop complaining over one card and actually play the game?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
rainlord: Dude. You do realize you just spent however long ranting ineffectually over the fact that one single card class's ability description isn't quite specific enough for you and one card doesn't do what you feel it should, right? :P People have tried to be helpful, but you aren't bothering to listen. You've insulted the game's developer and other players (who are trying to help explain things to you) who knows how many times over something that is in the end, utterly and completely trivial, both to the game, and life in general. You're being down-rated because you aren't being rational, and you're insulting others. If you feel that's unfair, deal with it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
When I see someone make several stupid comments over the course of several days, I automatically assume that they actually like the game and are just screwing with people in the comments for their own amusement. Please do not feed the trolls.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
We got it, you're right and everyone else is wrong, clearly. However, nothing's going to change, now get out of this game or stop spamming and whining in my comment section.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I would like to note, if you want something changed in game, make a post on the forums about it. If you don't, you clearly don't give a damn and should stop complaining. This is for everyone.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You are missing the point, or should I say deliberately trying to avoid it. The emerald shield does two things: one, it reflects spells. This is obviously broken because it only reflects spells cast at the elemental and not on creatures. UNLIKE OTHER SHIELDS the emerald shield doesn't distinguish between creatures and elemental, yey the effect doesn't work with creatures at all. It is using the wrong game mechanic. The shields I mentioned use the game mechanic the emerald shield should be using, they work against attacks by both creatures and elementals. You are confused with devour. Devour doesn't work with an attack, venom does. The scorpion text is fine, it is the shield that doesn't work as it should. To hit rolls are different than damage rolls, jesus f ucking christ. Emerals shield should only reduce damage not prevent the attack from happening at all.

omega: Unless you frequent the MMOs, using chat while playing games on kongregate is not the norm. As for rainlord: Try a pure death element deck with 6 poisons, 14-15 pillars, 4-5 mummies, 4-5 bone dragons. Emerald shield won't do much at that point and you'll have reliable poison damage.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Hi mr rainlord. All the shields you mention affects your opponents creature not your own. And I've played more less 15K games so I think I have noticed that. There is a major difference between devour and scorpion. Devour absorbs quanta every turn even when affected by cards like dials and freeze. Scorpion only give opponent poison when it Successfully deals damage to your opponent. I know it says every successful attack instead of successfully deal damage, so like I said the text is lumpy.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I find it funny how half the people complain in comments and NEVER jump in to chat. Pretty sure they are afraid they are wrong or something. Or don't want to be chewed out for bitching about irrelevant things.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@dragtom the problem is that emerald shield makes scorpions not hit at all instead of hitting for zero damage as it should. Hit roll and damage roll are different game mechanics and in fact other cards use them that way.
Devourers are a good example of this: they have zero attack, they don't do any damage at all. Scorps and other 1 attack creatures attack, hit or miss (eg dusk mantle), then damage is calculated. Emerald shield should reduce the damage by 1, not cause a miss or negate the attack entirely as it does now.
See Solar Shield: creatures attack and HIT, damage is reduced, you get light quanta BASED ON THAT DAMAGE. THIS is the mechanic that emerald shield says it uses, damage reduction, except it is f uckd up and the 1/x creatures never attack. The mechanic is in the f ucking game already. Stop trying to claim that it isn't and learn the difference between avoidance and mitigation. I can't believe there is a gamer alive who doesn't know that, let alone many of you.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
No shield protects the creatures as well. Why should emerald shield mention creatures in the text when shields aren't made to protect the creatures? And perhaps the text on the scorpion is a bit lumpy but it makes senesce especially if you look at death scorpion. Either way I don't think these are deciding factor if a game is well made or not.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
on-hit effects only apply when the creature actually hits. this means venom, vampire, and discord can be countered with shields. Note that devourers don't have an on-hit effect.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Aonar that is what the shield description says. It makes it VERY clear that it is supposed to block ALL spells. Just look at the thorn carapace, that one is only supposed to work on creatures (another point for that idiot omegareaper that doesn't know the difference between creatures and elementals). Either the emerald shield is bugged and broken or the description of what it does is criminally wrong.
Forest scorpions CAN hit through emerald shield, their damage gets reduced down to zero - or at least that is the way it SHOULD be if the shield wasn't completely broken. Not attacking is a different mechanic to reduced damage - please don't defend the sloppy developer. You don't need to have knowledge of ccgs, just look at the other cards: there are separate effects for not attacking, attacking and missing, attacking with reduced damage. The REASON for this is the way cards behave and interact and various effects trigger. They are not supposed to work the same way.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@omegareaper7 Are you talking as if this was real?? Are you high? I am talking about the game mechanics, as described on the cards. What about when they are buffed to have 2 attack, how does that work? The stinger partially phases through? Please stop trolling, this is stupid. We are discussing game mechanics here.
Elementals and their weapons are NOT creatures. There are separate effects and separate mechanics for each. You can see this on dozens of cards. Stop talking about things you don't understand.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Otherwise a good game, but is reduced to grinding only way too fast. It takes only a few games to notice that "Hmm, can't really fight anything above bronze arena or level 3 AI without getting more cards and upgraded cards." And since upgraded cards cost a LOT, you are just depressed to see the amount of grindy grinding ahead of you.
Maybe having more quests would help. Or some daily challenges.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Rainlord: How does that make sense? If it can't touch you through your shield, how can it poison you? Not only that, but you would seriously unbalance the game if forest scorpions could hit though shields. It would make a Poison/Quintessence/Dim. Shield deck neigh on unbeatable. Anyone else remember the days of Momentumed Phase Dragons?
Usually there's a reason for cards to work the way they do. In the case of Emerald Shield, the card shields you specifically (like all shields), so there's no reason for it to reflect spells used on your creatures.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@rainlord: Elementals are creatures to, and there weapons are extensions of them. Scorpions can't poison a shield. That is essentially what blocking them does. Pray tell how a scorpion who stabs your armor is going to poison you?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@omegareaper7 THE GAME ITSELF differentiates between creatures and weapons. There are even skills build around that. Dusk Mantle says that it applies ONLY to creatures.
re emerald shield: no sh*t, this is why i posted about it. Unlike Dusk Mantle, the Emerald Shield description says that it should be effective against all spells. Both are broken.
@MeowMeowCat that is exactly the problem. They should be attacking for 0 damage and still apply the poison. Right now they aren't attacking AT ALL. Amateur sloppy devs.
I guess I am the only one around here who thinks cards should use the mechanics that are on the card description and not other, similar mechanics that have a completely different outcome?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@whatimeanttosay: You might want to report that as a bug. The game is supposed to autosave after every battle. So long as you stay signed in to the same account, it should retain all of your stuff.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So, is there any way to save my progress? If I try to save, create an account, whatever, it doesn't work and when I close my browser I lose ALL progress.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
MORE bulshit keeps piling up: forest scorpion vs emerald shield: instead of reducing the damage down to zero and only applying the poison, the scorpions do not attack at all!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Ok, this is laughable... trying to make a more focused deck and I CANT HAVE MORE THAN 6 IDENTICAL CARDS? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME SO WHEN I WAS BUYING THEM??
F uck this game. Great idea, sh it execution.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@rainlord: You yourself wouldn't be immune to fog or altered vision if your creatures weren't. Elementals aren't gods, more of summoners.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
what the f uck is the deal? is the developer even listening? Why can hammer miss as if it was a creature when it ISNT and emerald shield does NOT reflect spells targeted at creatures when it SHOULD??
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@rainlord You get lower hp over time with Arena decks. Check the age of your deck, when you hover over it, it tells you how much hp you lost from it.

Should accidentally clicking a second Supernova really screw you this badly? *watches in horrified fascination as an army of singularities tear the world asunder*

LOL that moment when you have all 12 dragons on your field and then decimate you opponent. Makes you feel like a real badass.
