Actually, the 5-digit code in the tree is correct (although convoluted) - the "41235" is saying position the pointer hats on the wall in the order indicated - so the 2nd clue hat would be the 1st pointer hat, the 3rd clue hat = 2nd pointer hat, etc.

I think the five-digit code in the tree in the third room should be "23415"

The clue on the tree should read 23415, another accidental wrong clue so you need to go to the dev's site for the walkthrough. 1/5 for the cheek of it...again.
