so now having beaten the game, I know it is rogue-like, but having only had two encounters with the veteran, one around level 15 and the other around level 200, is just too few in my opinion. There were also way too many encounters with rotten food. I would like more encounters with veteran, maybe every 50 levels or so, and maybe just before the boss a chance to buy potions. I ended the game with a lot of money and no way to spend it.

Yes, looking back I wish maybe I had done set floors. Like every ten floors gives the veteran, every 5 gives a merchant. Etc. Next time I do this, and I will do it again, I'm going to set that. So you at least know saving your money will give you something. It's too random. Thanks!

I guess I was lucky because I did beat the final boss with my very first character (Warrior: Str 9, Dex 5 was its final stats). The game has some potential, but would be nice to have some minor modifications: hotkey for 'Ascend' eg space, minor rewards for completing the the game with a certain class, re balancing some of the purchasable items like the bomb or the 10% health potion ..

I think maybe adding a descend button would help too, so if you're too weak, you can go back. I'm going to give this some thought, thanks for the feedback! You rock!

Good game. Solo developing is hard and I can see the work you've put in. I tried to make a replay-able 'combat and encounter' based game earlier this year... and I think you did a much better job of it than I did. I'm not going to suggest any changes because by your comments you've already got quite a few good ideas. I've got a lot of respect for your work and I can't wait to see where you take things.

Encounters can be too random, I saw the vet 5 times in a row, then didn't see him again for 100 floors, to only see him repeatedly. Other events are like this too, I only had the rotten food event once, and an mp regen system would be nice. Good potential though. IMO the respawn system is a little to merciful, only taking a fraction of your gold. Oh well, great potential!

I agree, I'm going to rebuild the game and address this. I'm thinking maybe batches of randomness next time, like 10 random things, then a set thing to recover at, then 10 random, then a set safe place to recover... something like this.

This is the first time I've finished a roguelike in the very first run.
