You can switch between Game modes in menu
Classic mode: drag squares to detach them.
Fast mode: click squares to detach them.
Tips: lives regenerate in "Fast" mode;
click and drag at the end of the level to destroy remaining squares with one move;
press P to turn paint splatter on/off.

FYI, you can get rid of the single blocks at the end by clicking and dragging, instead of clicking on every single one.

I love the game mechanics (except for the circle-X-lock - too much clicking), but when you start getting multiple indicators on one piece, it can get pretty difficult to take everything in and process how to go about solving the puzzle.
