Having hints enabled by default seems a bit weird when you give a star for having them disabled. It's very strange, coming to the game new, to solve a level perfectly and not get one of the two stars. Usually hints are a thing you ask for, not a thing that is inflicted on you without you even noticing!

I would have rather had the game check for errors AFTER I finish, not penalize me in the process of solving it, and find out I still lose a star at the end.

The star for mistakes is a bad decision to include in the game. You can have a star system for 'perfect' completions but I think you should do away with the 'mistake' thing (people should be allowed to misclick if they correct it) and hiding the options in the settings is a poor choice too.

its a fine game if you remove the whole star for hints... can just go back and beat the lvl again without hints making it just plain annoying feature to have in the game..

If I may : you should add a validation button instead of directly validating when a level is full.

Why ? Because of the error star. If you miss the good square (ok, doesn't sound possible, but let assume it is) you have to start over to get the star.

And I'm sure I'm not the only one who did a screen shot to redo the level in no times.

So it will be more : "I'm sure so I click" rather than "damn, I have been wrong one time during the solving process"

My 2cts :-)
