Descrizione

FlowShooter takes a new spin on an old-school top-down shooter. The game plays you as you play it with the stats on enemies adjusting to reflect your skill level to achieve the state of "flow". Can you dig it?

*Introduction*

In this current age, video game players have never varied larger in terms of their skill when it comes to completing objectives. It is a designer’s job to carefully balance and tweak gameplay to work for all sorts of people, but it would be easier to have the game assess how the player is doing and adjust the game on the fly. This game is a means of demonstrating that.

A research paper on "Creating Flow with Dynamically Changing Enemies" is avaliable at my website http://johnpdoran.com

A good game, nice idea and I really like the touch of instrumentals. Several points that my fellow players may suggest: First, Instead of 70 enemies all having 1 for speed and 10 for damage, maybe it be better if there was a change in the random settings? Also a variation of enemies with different attributes would definitely bring about more colour to the game - keeping it spontaneous. Have you also considered the idea of different levels or upgrades to the blue sphere as the player progresses?
Good concept and nice game, I hope these ideas may be of some use to you :D

The concept works, but it would be an idea to put in a reaction time statistic as well. (time they enter the camera's field of view-being shot/number of enemies) and base it off that because when you're waiting ten minutes for one to come along and manage to hit it you're gonna have an acuracy of 100% :P
Enlightening though!

It starts out way, way too slowly. The game should remember when you demonstrate that you're not a noob, to start off faster than 1 enemy every 10 seconds that you can kill with a single shot.

A novel concept, but the reactive aspect is rather slow, i.e. the "flow" adjust at such a slow rate that the standard gamer will likely not reach the full potential of the game before the timer runs out.
