There is a bug in this when you are up against the "Iron Behemoth" that allows you to spam some serious points. When the enemy ship starts shaking, right before it blows up, keep on shooting at it and it won't be destroyed and the points keep rolling in. Once you get tired of giving your space bar a workout, the ship will explode and you will have more than enough points to buy all of the upgrades and extra lives that you want. After that, you can just cruise on through the game and destroy Planet X. This bug also works on the enemy base as well.
