the biggest problem is your character faces left or right, but the enemies can be above or below you, if you could fix it so the player faces all 4 directions then it would be better.

Could be a very good game. A few problems: 1) As noted above, can't attack up or down. 2) You step forward when you attack, making it very hard to avoid getting hit by some enemies. 3) You can't dodge up or down either. 4) Lack of contrast between the numbers of items you have makes it hard to tell if you're out of potions or keys. 5) Those seeking boom bats follow you even if you're stuck in a switch cutscene.

So you decided to make a game with a focus on it's storyline, but you couldn't be bothered to put the text through a spelling and grammer checker. That's lovely...
