Flash End-of-Life, Ruffle Integration!
This game runs on Adobe Flash. Effective Jan. 2021, Adobe began blocking its flash player's use everywhere. Kongregate is now partnering with Ruffle to make some of our Flash content playable again. Please note: If you are using Ruffle, badges will not work normally. In order to earn a badge in a Flash game, you will need to complete the badge, then submit a screenshot (showing both proof of completion and your username) as a missing badge report using the report missing achievement option. Very nice idea and good artwork. However, the way the controls are setup bugs me: 1) you actually stand still, when you slash, this stops the otherwise great flow; 2) when the flying enemies appear it is hard to judge if you'll bump into them when jumping or barely not so you can jump+slash them, given the very limited amount of life, this gets your killed rather often; 3) an indicator of when you're going to land is missing. Apart from that, difficulty progression is rather steep after the first few easy levels and as others noted: you're basically fighting the same fight over and over until you finally get magic.

The idea is good, but the limited amount of upgrades (you need to reach level 20 before you can even active the magic powers?) and lack of variety in enemies and levels makes for a rather boring game.

Control scheme is interesting, but flawed. If I'm having to move and attack w/ the mouse, then I end up doing both less effectively. Having to turn and take a step towards enemies in order to slash them seriously hinders maneuverability. Add in aiming spells on top of that and it can easily get to be too much to handle. Also, you should give us some way to recover health and/or mana, because by level 32 I did not have enough of either and called it quits.
