This game offers insight into the role of men in the eyes of women: useless, time consuming and in the way of business. As a man, I find this game insulting. Entertaining... but insulting.

why can't she use both arms. what kind of waitress is she exactly?.. in a saloon

If the boyfriend is "just a game mechanic, don't worry about it," then why a boyfriend? Why not a nagging mother? or some poor sod crying at the bar and you're comforting the sad person so they don't disturb the other patrons? Or a pet cat that will get bored and act up in the kitchen without attention? Or your little sibling on break from school who is as ill-behaved as the cat?

Or here's an idea: how about her friends visit her at work, and spending time with them fills up the main character's affection meter so *she* gets what she needs from her peers?
