It seems like it's possible to get 0 Talent, which then prevents you from ever getting any exp, which then prevents you from gaining rank and thus you can't use the Dark Circle to change your talent.

Main problem at this point is inspiration. There's no indication as to how to get it, and it's needed for numerous early upgrades.

RE: Inspiration: There is a ritual unlocked in the dim cave. Resets rank/experience, so you can get the ranks (and inspiration) again. Might be better ways later, but this is the earliest method I've seen.
